Title: Needing brake line adapters.....
Post by: vinnietbird on May 24, 2017, 12:27:26 PM
I'm going to be installing Turbo Coupe brakes on my Sport. The front brake lines (hoses) need adapters to fit the chassis lines. I saw that they are 1/4" to 3/16" adapters. I can't find any at all here in town. Is there a link to them or a part number to order them or have them ordered?

I think I only needed it for one side but I got it at Checker/Oreilleys.  Edelmann #258340

i was tryig to figure out what you were asking because we didnt have to do that,, then it hit me.

We did PBR dual piston up front with the applicable hose,, then up to our newly fab'd up copper /nickle brake line and ,, we simply used the fitting that fit the caliper and the new line.

maybe its a simple fitting you need and not an adaptor to put one fitting atop another fitting to make that now fit your caliper.

sorry,, nothing productive added here, just suggesting a new fitting would be better than an adaptor

Loaded is right...I used the same thing on my Sport with the TC stuff, and again, on the '87 2.3 Stang (5 lug swap)...

Oreilly should have it in stock. I've got a spare here, if you can't find one locally, for some reason.

I got them. Thanks guys.

I asked Autozone if they had them. They said no. Talked to a different guy there, he said no. Tried Oreillys and Napa, all said no. Finally went back to Autozone, they let me go to the back where the brake stuff is....they had them. LOL

Let us know how it goes. One of these days I'll pick up some 87-88 TC or 87-93 Mustang front spindles and switch to 11" front brakes.

Lou, it's well worth it, especially with good rotors and some Hawk pads

I'll post pics once the work is done. I'm hoping to swap everything next weekend. Rear, front suspension, booster, MC, proportioning valve, and so on. Stay tuned.
