Ok, for this to make sense you must realize that my basp00get has an exterior door. The door only has a spring closer and no latch. With that in mind... check out what I found in my basp00get the other day when I opened the door.

Second pic w/ my girlfriend. Yes, she's the one in the red shirt. (http://www.i-dog.com/board/messages/49/93171.jpg)
No one nearby has reported him missing. Police say there are no reports thereof, either. He shows signs of mistreatment, possibly abuse. Very good-natured and friendly. I think we're keeping him.
that is a good idea to keep the girlfriend lol
Feared we'd say something, huh? :p
But.. but.. I'm INNOCENT! :wtf: :D
I hope you give that thing a bath
Yes the dog, what were you expecting I say?
I say keep it/them :D
Even if the people came looking for the dog, if he has signs of abuse or neglect they dont deserve to have a dog (or any other animal for that matter) get a bag of cookies and give him a bath, then you will both be happy.
Can I offer a sugestion? Be extremely careful for a while. At least until the dog shows complete trust in you, and that could take years. What signs of mistreatment do you mean?
If he seems to have been abused, please ask your girlfriend not to wrap her arms around his neck like that. If you're looking for a way to set a dog off, that would be it. I hate to sound like a pesimist, but you don't know this dog, man. And he looks big enough to do some serious damage. The sketchiest dogs are the quiet ones. A dog who barks is usually quite trusworthy.
Aside from that, I hope he turns out as awesome as he looks. He's a beautiful dog. Anyone who could harm a pup like that, well........
:macgun: :wtf:
Don't worry, Brian's not a dog moron ;)
Glad you're giving him a new home Brian! Good luck with him ;)
Hey them dogs are expensive. Take $500 and spend it on your car   your still saving money in the deal...
My mother decided she want's to keep him so she can foot all the vet bills. I have my own dog (much smaller) to pay for.
He had some scars on his back and tail that could've been nothing more than a rash. He's somewhat skiddish if you're loud, but if you call him nicely, he'll come over to just about anyone. Somethin' else really strange... if he's outside and he hears a motorcycle, he'll sprint after it, barking.
His last owner probably yelled a lot which is why he doesn't like it.
As for the motorcycle thing... Remember that article on dog eye sight that I sent you ;)
Oh, that never came into my mind. It's just seeing her with her arms around his neck put up red flags in my head. :)
yeah, never good to do to a strange dog who breaks in to your house, lol.
Ashlie's more of a dog person than I am. She only did that after he'd jumped up on both of us and given us "hugs". I understand he doesn't mean the same thing as people do by it. I have found a couple things not to do to this dog. He's very sensetive about any touching on his lower/rear back and hind legs, where he has those scars. You touch him near there and he turns around quick. So I tell everyone who comes into contact with him to avoid that area. I've even picked him up (just barely, he's heavy) without any problems.
