Tried to order. Power steering line from O'Riley's and was told they are no longer available. They have one in stock 350 mile away and can get it in about 5 business days. Sounds like I am going to have to pull mine off and get one made at evco or maybe Napa if I can find a guy that will still do it. This means putting the car down for a day as I will have to loosen the motor mounts, jack the engine up to make removal easier and actually take the old hose in to get rebuilt.
If an alignment wasn't over $100 I'd just find a mustang without a motor at the parts yard and gut the rack.
I wonder what other parts are no longer avaliable, even when ordered for a mustang for our cars now?
Can't think off the top of my head but yeah I'm still stuck in 10 years ago when I first started driving and had my red car and it seemed pretty easy in comparison. Not much locally stocked anymore, it is frustrating when you can't be letting it sit...
Find a local hydraulics shop. Any place worth their weight can make you hoses provided you have the old one along with.
The joys of living in a major metropolitan area. Power steering hose is in stock at a local O'Reilly 10 minutes from my house:

I never really have a problem sourcing mechanical parts locally.
Yeah, there are times I miss living in salt lake. If I work till 10pm I have to drive 22 miles to get a burger after work.
I found a hose 23 miles away, measured the way the crow flies. They told me there is one on the shelf, but if not the next closest one is 47 miles. I just bought another quart of atf, that will get me by another week or so. Maybe I can get all greasy on my birthday instead of doing it tomorrow
Yup. Body and trim parts on the other hand......
Pshhht... easy to find. Load yourself and Dave up and come down my way for a weekend. I can overwhelm you with parts in the you pull it's. Ask Jcassity about my honey holes. Wow, that sounded bad...
Yeah that's an issue......
I have NO response for this. LOL!
I might take you up on that come spring time. Would be nice to have some spare fenders and glass. There's some OEM glass on EBAY that's been up for about a year, but the shipping is nuts!
Bring me a rust free 87-88 driver side fender with the cornering light hole. It's the only spare front end sheet metal I need.....
You'll drive it to Chicago right? :hick:
I actually saw one on Ebay not too long back. NOS. I'll look.
Definitely let me know about the spring. I'm always up for a good junkyard run.
