A lot of people have done that. I ran mine like that when my smog pump gave out, then I simply removed all the smog equipment, plugged the holes in the back of the heads, and called it a day. I eventually installed a smog delete pulley so I could retain the stock length belt.

I blocked the holes in the back of the head, and run a shorter belt.  Been many years now.

I've been driving with everything in place but just bypassed for a while now. We have no emissions where I live now, but I want to leave everything in place just in case I move back.

What length of belt are you using? I'm wanting to get a shorter belt that I could swap in just in case my smog pump goes out while driving.
