How would I go about "flipping" the mounting brackets?

Can't you just modify your existing clock bracket?

I think that coolcats has a good write-up on it... :)  Be careful of drilling or "digging around" with a screw driver--some of the electrical components and ribbon wiring are just beneath the housing at the area by the brackets.

There are 4 on ebay right now, but they are all from Panther cars.

From what i remember, the clock bracket looked almost identical. Mine was out of a tbird though, so o really didn't have to do much, save for wiring.

I've done lots of Panther tripminder retrofits.  I've always found it very easy to just remove regular digital clock brackets and epoxy them on to the tripminder casing.

it came today, got it all wired up, seems to work ok, but I gotta press some of the buttons pretty hard.

You can take it apart and run a small piece of sandpaper between the button contacts.  That should remove the corrosion in there and make it so you don't have to press the buttons hard.

^ Yup I had to do that when I got mine a while back, must of been sitting for a long time w/o use
Use something fine though like 1000 grit or so

Make sure it reads accurate as well. I had to add a jumper to it. First testing was averaging 100+ mpg.

Instant mpg was accurate, but average mpg was also saying 100 mpg, lol

Yeah, i did a 1.8 mile drive. Short blast to a 60mph zone and when i got home i was averaging 134. Adding the jumper basically solved it

Coolcats.net has a pinout and talks about the jumper.
