I always take photos with my phone, upload them via the photo bucket app and the just copy and paste the link to wherever I want them.
Does anyone use the forum uploader?
yoh have to really, really dial down the file size and resolution to upload through the forums. Its been about 5 years since I've used it, but i generally had to resize my pics to 640x480 or so to get them to upload. They need to be less then 1mb in size.
OK, so I tried checking out your MS problem thread, and I can't quite determine what the issue is.
Are you seeing any RPM in TunerStudio when you try and crank the car? (Or are you that far yet?)
Only on stim on tunerstudio it all looks good as far as i can see. I have rpm and all gauges. I have no output lights on stim.
So, no Inj lights? I haven't used a Jim Stim, so I'm not fully familiar with it.
How is your IGN configured? TFI?
One thing to check (even though I'm not sure if it matters while running on the stim), did you calibrate the TPS? What is the "Flood Clear Raw" value set at? I chased around a no output issue for a week, which turned out to be that the Flood Clear value was set too low, and thus the MS thought that the pedal had been mashed before start, and the injectors were shut off. Again, I don't *think* this matters on the stim, but worth a look.

Well, I built the MS in the Tbird so long ago, I don't recall all the configuration for the TFI set-up. My most recent MS build/install was in the '80 Volvo, and that's where I had the no start issue. I would see crank RPM's but the injectors wouldn't fire. The ECU checked out, but like you, I couldn't get the INJ LEDs to light on the stim, even though all the wiring and components checked out.
Initially, I thought I had an issue with my Hall Sensor in the dist, or the circuit on the board.
I felt like an idiot when I found the issue.

I'll look again for the flood clear I couldn't find it earlier. I was stealing time. Getting frustrated walked away. When everyone's asleep I'll go look again I know I've seen the setting.
Ive flashed and reflashed different firmware and had mixed results. May put carb back on and drive it.

I am troubleshooting the TR7 now, I lost the TPS and the tach output. I just checked it on the stim and the Megasquirt checks out, so now I am going to have to test the wiring in the car to find the problem. You just need to be methodical and definitively rule out one thing at a time.

I looked at what you posted. Did you reflash the latest firmware and try again? The Tuner studio sees a usb-serial device as two things, just select the one that is USB device and it'll be fine.
My issues were a broken wire on the TPS and on the tacho circuit I found that it likes to be outside the Megasquirt box to work solid. I just ran a wire out from JS1 to a spare output wire, then connected that to the relay circuit. I find that it won't work taking power and ground from inside MS. Instead run a wire from fused, switched ignition 12v to the relay coil and run a seperate good ground to the emitter leg of the transistor to have it work the best.
If you keep having issues you can send me your MS and stim and I can check it out on the bench. I bought some spare parts last week, so if you and Travis need me to build the tacho circuits for you I can do that. I'd need $25 each for them. You will just need to solder one jumper wire inside MS to the output wire you want to use.

I can see how projects get mothballed i've sunk a month into this and have gotten nowhere. ready to put car in storage and walk away. every time I ASK question the awnsers confuse me even more.Gonna try to keep moving on the car side get harrnesses made.

I've only dealt with an old fast efi setup, but from what little I've read on both setups, they operate very similarly. On the fast efi, the only thing the computer needed was a pip or crank trigger signal and tps to initiate a start procedure.

Sometimes I find that if I back away for a bit and work on other things it helps a lot. I made the biggest mistake of shelving my Bird for about nine years because I got so pissed at it. I forgot how much I enjoy the car and letting it sit that long cost me more $$$ in the long run as cars are not meant to sit.
Step back, take some time, and then get back after it. One thing that I have found that helps me is writing things down as I go so I have reference points. I think Chuck is really good at this as he refers to his notes a lot in some threads so my guess is he has a few note books with all kinds of info.
Anyhow, stick with it and when it all comes together you will be very happy you did.

I know how you feel. My bird has been sitting for over a year while I get the MS going. It's all wired up but I had to clean up some noise on the crank sensor signal and I wasn't capable of doing it. Had to have some friends come over with O-scopes to get it done. Then I burned up the coil pack.. Doh. May get out there today and fiddle with it, see if it will fire up. Good luck!

I guess there is always a chance. After a solid month of frustrating the s@#& out of myself it looks like a bad daughter card. Still under warranty. A month of it. Hope that fixes it. Mailing it back tomorrow.

Made a taping for vacuum to booster. Not sure what to do with pcv barb on tbody is to small. May tap other runner
Any thoughts on the pcv?
On carbed setups I've seen people drill and tap a new fitting where the throttle body square section is.

Getting closer. Diy autotune is sending new daughter card. Hopefully under warranty. They haven't asked for money just an address to ship it to. So Hopefully will be up and running soon.
Got new card. They were nice enough to send it next day so I can try to get bird running this weekend.

Got fuel done and leak tested. No idea on pressure. Never thought I'd have to special order gauge tried all local parts chain stores and 3 speed shops. Gonna try and dig out pressure test kit. Just to set and try start tomorrow. Some little things to button up vac line to map and connect o2 to ecu. Played with ecu may start fingers crossed.

It's different that's for sure. Afrs are good. Was 108 in the garage and laptop kept ing out from heat. And 90 in the front seat and with it on the cushion and fan blocked it was doing the same over heating. So I've got no data logs to looks at. But seat of the pants its definitely not throttle responsive starts rough but 100 times better then the 4150 with no choke.

Never got to tunning. Touched something and car would start then die and kill ecu. It's weird car dies loses connectivity in tunerstudio and fuel pump stays grounded.
Dóing a wiggle test I pulled cap and wigled rotor and car ran fine. Happened again on road wiggled rotor and fine.
Can't log data need to get a battery for laptop.
Car is running and started tuning.
Going to try and resurrect factory tach. Found a half speed tach out setting. If I cant get it to work Jim has as set up that will. Went out for a ride yesterday with no tach, it was weird kept looking at it. Changed to an efi style coil was running a canister style and had some weird stuff with ignition hope it makes a difference? May be fuel related..\

Found some mis-wired injectors on mine, still won't run though, checking timing next. I have to take it slowly or I'll burn it to the ground in frustration.

Haven't been here in a while. Cars still on the shiny side up and have not felt the need to toss a match at it. However it is running bad a every time I touch it, it gets worse. Maybe time to park it for the winter. need to get ready for SNOW.....
Got mine fired tonight! Injectors are pouring fuel though so I need to tweak EVERYTHING! Just a bit excited. The garage was smog city after 5 seconds runtime.
It was a 100 degrees out and car was so rich I could only run it for a minute before I couldn't take it when I got mine started. Good luck and have fun.

I don't know what you mean by command a sub-1000 rpm idle. But it idles at 950 ish. I've kicked it up to 1100 to keep alternator charging. I need to replace it.
I got it sorted. Seems I had a few gasket leaks! Smoke machines are awesome, by the way. Currently idling fairly smooth between 7-800 RPM. Now I need to sort out why TunerStudio isn't displaying my Wideband correctly.
I had to calibrate the voltage. Using a innovate mtx wide band.
