Title: WANTED: '86 Cougar XR-7 (5-speed manual) or '87 Cougar XR-7
Post by: exner60 on April 15, 2015, 08:09:17 PM
I am looking for an '86 XR-7 with a 5-speed manual transmission but realize that very few were made and even fewer remain 29 years later.  I am also considering an '87 [or an '88 as long as it has the (optional) digital instrumentation].  Smoke metallic exterior would be a plus.

If you have any leads, please let me know.

Well, this is about as close as you can get to your request for an '86 model.

I have an 86 cougar xr7 for sale with a 5 speed swap.  Only thing not hooked up is the neutral safety switch.  Heres the craigslist ad http://toledo.craigslist.org/cto/5006648520.html  I know it will easily make the trip back to CT.

Heres the build thread on that car.  http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?33058-2012-13-winter-race-car&highlight=
I'd love to see it be in the hands of an enthusiast!  Obviously no one around me wants to drive a manual car with how hard it was for me to get my 89 supercoupe sold.
