I was investigating an oil leak yesterday and discovered these two harnesses that were disconnected.

I have no idea what they go to but suspect air conditioning. Am I missing something?
Top one I've seen before...I think it is A/C. Bottom is the EEC test harness.
Okay, thanks for the info. Do you know where the a/c thing connects?
Do you know where that one connector is that you have to pull the loopback plug off of or whatever when setting your timing? If you don't, could that top one be it?
What year is that? Every test connector i saw on ford (86+) were on firewall between Brake Booster and Map Sensor...
I dont know what is the top connector but mine is also not connected....
But the A/C compressor already seems to be plugged in.
Edit: Just went out and checked (2:45 am and raining). Not A/C.
Edit again: Whatever it is, jkirchman has it plugged into something.
V6 cars had the EEC testers in different locations in the engine bay, depending on the model year and fuel injection type. Basically the V8 cars had it in the same location (driver's side behind the strut tower) throughout the run of the Fox cars.
Karl, that's the SPOUT connector you're talking about. That will always be by the TFI module (if it's distributor mounted).
As for our mystery connector...it's not coming to mind what it's for. The convertible was pretty much fully loaded when I bought it, and that was not connected to anything. I don't ever recall seeing it connected to anything, in fact. If I were to take a wild guess, maybe for full digital gauges? Perhaps a trip to the shop manuals will reveal its hidden agenda. ;)
Could be for full digital gauges. I know it is connected on my car.
the top connector seems to be more of a "splice" rather than a connector, the temp gauge sender goes in and a wire comes out of the same "port", then theres another random wire, possible its for the digital gauges, but im not sure
Just went to the garage and checked.... I have the full digital gauge and that connector is indeed connected on the Demon.
