Show some pics!!
Of what?
Oh, chunks of aluminum....LOL.
Give me a few minutes, coming right up with an explanation of the deal........
First... THANKS KITZ!!! Kitz let me buy these on the "pay half, then he sent them, pay the rest out" purchase plan. AFR 185 aluminum heads and Harland Sharpe rockers, and a pair of Cometic head gaskets. I appreciate that Kitz. Here's a picture of the chunks of aluminum sitting in the trunk of the Sport.....

oooh, nice! Although your stance will change a bit with the lighter weight...
Maybe a little. I'll learn to cope. LOL. First, gotta swap ball joints up front before these can go on. Always something, but I'm seeing light at the end of this wicked long tunnel.
I'm jealous
Very nice man
I am studying on these, and it looks like I MAY have to flycut my valve reliefs. Not a huge deal, still seeking info on that matter.
No HO pistons?
Hey Kitz, what do you think? Of course I'll have to do a PTV check. But AFR stated that my valve reliefs MAY not be wide enough. Depth of the valve relief wasn't an issue. Still unsure of which cam to use. Not sure if a custom cam is going to fit into the budget. Looking into that next Friday when I'm off on a weekday again.
flycutting depends on pistons (flat tops?) and cam timing, too. Do you have 2.02 or 1.9 valves in it? Are those 1.7 or 1.6 Harlands? What cam?
2.02" intake valves with stock pistons probably will require flycutting of the piston. You can clay it to make sure but they'll probably hit. The only 2.02 intake valve head I know that will work with stock pistons is the Trick Flow Twisted Wedge head. Either way you should notice a huge gain over the GT40Ps:burnout:
I'll probably get an isky tool and fly cut them. Or a 2.02 valve in my drill and use it with some sanding discs to do the job.
I pretty sure you will need to cut some. I never checked in to it, I wasn't planning on using them on a 5.0.
Fly cutting the pistons really isn't that big of a deal. A couple of hours of labor. And for the time i have into this car, that's really no big deal. LOL.
Vinnie, you can just give them to me instead of going through all that work...lol
I appreciate the offer, Jerry....but I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing I put that kind of burden on you.
