Will these parts work in my 87 xr-7
I can vouch for everything but the evaporator, not sure there. but I know the rest will work just fine
according to autozone.com, they use the same part number evaporator.
It should work and you can't beat the price but why replace the evaporator? I just replaced everything in my AC system EXCEPT the evaporator and purchased my components at RockAuto. Here's my list:
Denso 6P148A Compressor $280.00
SPECTRA PREMIUM Condenser Part # 73554 $87.79
FOUR SEASONS Discharge Line Part # 55704 $76.79
FOUR SEASONS Suction Line w/ Accumulator Part # 55612 $60.79
FOUR SEASONS Liquid Line w/ Orifice Tube Part # 55602 $19.03
TOTAL (before shipping) $524.40
I followed the information provided in this link:
http://www.corral.net/index.php/tech/maintenance/74-r12-to-r134a-conversion-on-1988-mustang-lx-5o
I originally wanted to pay an AC shop to evacuate and charge my system after I replaced the components but the first two I called claimed they would not touch a system where the owner had replaced their own components. So I followed the instructions in the link provided above and went to Harbor Freight and purchased a vacuum pump and manifold guages. Evacuating and charging was very straight forward and my temp at the vent is now 40F with the outside air at 100F.
Just a question what about the compressor mounting arraignment. Does the kit come with mounting brackets??? Belts ETC. Also what about the dash controls??? Is the car equipped with an AC SYSTEM!!! If not what is with that and how to address it>Thanks
It's just replacement parts for fix cars with factory ac ,
I'd relaxed the evap bec I'm sure about the one in the car it's over 20 yrs old I will also replace the heater core eilevim in there
