Title: NOS console plates.....
Post by: vinnietbird on March 04, 2013, 04:32:13 PM
I have three of them...

2-single power seat/power windows/power mirrors.....$50 each

1-power windows, and power mirrors only....$50

Brand new, in the original Ford boxes.

I have dual power seats, so , they do me no good.

Vin, are these the 85-88 versions with the square power mirror cutout? or the 83/84 circular cut out?

One plate with power seat, and the plate without are pending sale.

That leaves one plate with power seat left.

There are actually three versions.

Window switches on the 85-86 cars were pull-back for "up" and push forward for "down". 87-88 was the opposite; push-forward for "up" and pull-back for "down".

It was a sutbtle change that can easily be overlooked. It wasn't even mentioned in the "What's New" section of the '87 Salespersons Source Book.

87-88 on top, 85-86 on bottom.

Sorry for the hi-jack Vinnie.........back to selling.

I just want to say it is awesome that you knew that.  And also hilarious that they would change such an insigificant detail while keeping the overall structure the same.  I mean, can't you just picture some engineers or whoever in a meeting arguing about if the switch should go forward or backward to open the window?  Good stuff . . .
