Title: wipers wont park
Post by: birdboy88 on February 17, 2013, 12:05:37 PM
I know theres a few threads about this but im still not too sure. I think I need a regulator. I've swapped in a known working wiper motor and a good switch and the wipers still wont park. When I turn them off and they go down the come back up and sometimes they stop all of the way up or in the middle or most of the way down. But they work as they should otherwise.usually if i flick them on and off quickly and try to stop them in the down position I can get them to stop close to the bottom. I'm convinced I need a regulator but I thought I'd get some advice before I get into that job. Also...I have no idea where the regulator is or what it looks like.

check your ground wire on the wiper motor under the hood...thats the problem 99% of the time

Yes, it's a common problem for these cars. There are two possibilities, what's wrong.
First - the grounding.
Second - parking contact inside the motor.

Both are easy fixes. Try to clean the ground connection first. There is a separate wire which goes under one of those bolts.
