It's mine. Don't ask why. It's the only non-cougar that I ever "fell in love with" I guess. It's also the very first car that I've ever financed (feels wierd). It's a '98 collector series with 63K on the clock. It has EVERYTHING. Almost alittle too much in fact. I got it for well under Blue Book also (under 10K) I dunno, every young single guy has this "phase" they go through when it comes to appearances especially when you work in a big company where everyone drives new fancy stuff. I guess it was just my turn.
And yes the 96 XR7 is for sale (until it's gone this time).
That is sweet. I've always loved the Mark VIII as well.
Are those MN-12's? I've always wondered.
no, name is sorta same tho, like sn-95 mn-12 the lincons are something... i forget tho
Nothing wrong with wanting (or buying) one of the later Marks.. VII or VIII.
(nothing wrong with wanting any car, except maybe a Yugo.. lol)
Even a Chebby? ;)
What I meant was, is this RWD? It's profile is a heck of a lot like the MN-12's. SN95's are mustangs though, aren't they? Your answer created more confusion than clarification. :giggle:
You know, I've never looked at the interior of one of those but I must say that the entire dash/console looks very sleek...and how it blends in with the door panels...
Those are coded FN-10, pretty much a MN-12 with refinements. :ies:
They're an MN12 with airbag suspension, basically. Nice car - I've wanted a VIII since they came out in '93. I still have sales literature around here that I had ordered from Lincoln back then.
also, if i remember correctly, they have all aluminum rear suspension components, and other odds and ends such as that
I'm waiting for Cougars 2 Go to stop by and start his ranting tirade on how much he "loves" Mark VIIIs...
It's what Chevy owners do and say after they've bought 'em that's so annoying. The wanting and the buying aren't so bad. :p
You will not be sorry... they're more than a 'Bird with air suspension. The 96-98 Cobra guys like to say it uses their engine but it originally debuted in the first gen Mark in 93.
Check out http://www.markviii.org and modulardepot.com for about everything you need to know about your new purchase. Get that blend door taken care of by the dealer now if you can... it's only a matter of time in a Gen 2. :)
sweet...absolutly one of my favorite cars :asshole: ...i had a 94 and a 97...best cars i ever had. modded them both. i was thinking of picking up a 98 lsc but we "need" 4 doors anyway...perhaps a place of intrest for you...
lincolns of distinction (http://mark8.org/lod/)
maxrpm.com and lincolnmtorsports.com seem to be down for some reason. they were excellent sorce of markviii spacific parts n stuff alongside of some great swaps they did including a blown navigator engine. have fun with it....i know i would..
I won't be joining any mark forums now, I regularly visit modular depot for the wealth of 4.6L info (my 96 is a 4.6). But mark owners in general aren't the friendlist people over the 'net.
I've noticed the same thing. A little haughty or arrogant it seems.
Congratulations on getting a car you "fell in love with." :)
Good luck with it. (Hope you have better luck than me. (http://www.cougarnuts.com/board/showpost.php?p=102031&postcount=37))
congrads,, i use to drool of markvii's until suddenly the 8's came out then i was totally floored with the whole design.
