I just dug this out of a box from my parents house. I thought it was cool back in the day. Threw it on for a couple of shots......keep the laughter to a minimum.... :rollin:

Wow.... I havent seen one of those since the 80s
Now you're speaking my language...LOL

Now the question is...were you also rocking the matching LeBra mirror covers? :mullet:
Eric, never had those! I used to have smoked headlight covers too! The only thing cool about the bra i have is the Thunderbird logo is correct for my 83. I might rock it on a cruise night if i can muster the courage....
Ah, cool...those were good times. I still have the original LeBra, the mirror covers, and the instruction booklet. Not sure about the hooks and elastic bands though.
Thinking the mirror covers are pretty rare so I better hang onto them. ;)
I remember when the bras started being offered in colors other than black. Burgundy, tan, and I think silver IIRC. Pretty cool stuff.
Thing that sucked for me was, the LeBra was engineered for the T-Bird, so it never sat right against the more upright Cougar header panel.
At least it never flapped in the wind...
hahaha old school.... i saw one on a 95 bird the other day it wasnt a good thing....
Ugly, but, going on a long haul down the interstate....probably worth it.
Its funny you say that Vinnie......i used to put it on for long highway trips as it was a hassle to install on a daily basis. It was also rumored that you could fog the paint if the bra got wet underneath combined with the engine heat. Urban legend most likely, as i never saw it happen.....
That is absolutely true, David. On clearcoated paint, fogging would happen if water sat in the bra too long. Had that happen a couple of times on my old '84. Removing the hood section of the bra and letting it "air out" for a day or two brought the paint back to normal.
Now back around 1990 or so, a buddy of mind had a silver '84 Turbo Coupe that he bought with the bra on it already. One day he stopped by my house and I asked him how often he removed the bra. He said, "I've had this car for over a year and have never removed it...should I?" We popped the hood, I removed the hood section of the bra...and the entire front edge had started to bubble with rust, with some already poking through. His heart was broken. Not long after that he got the whole car repainted.
So yeah...no parking the car with a wet bra. Or just remove it.
Oh yeah, while I'm thinking of it, do NOT use Armor All on it. That clogs the "pores" on the naugahyde and when it gets wet, all the milky spooge oozes out. ;)
I do NOT want milky spooge on the Sport !!!
Spooge and bra in the same post.... Nice.
My aunt had a Lebra on the front of her firebomb forever. Well it got snagged on a bush or somthing and ripped a portion of it. Well.. It had to go. Upon removal (now mind you this is a red 94 firebird) it looked like it was sunburnt and all flaky.
They look cool on some cars but... I would rather have them go bra-less.
Do a search for 5.0willgo or something like that.he had a nice 88 xry white mono paint job with a bra. One thing that happends a lot too, the paint will sun fade on back of the bra, and you will sometimes fine cars with good looking paint up front, and badly sun damaged everywhere else.
Funny you say that, when I brought my red 88 home it had only the hood part of the bra and had nice shiny paint underneath and the rest of the car is faded
My Escort GT had a bra on it.
The Tbird, well, anymore my rides are braless.....when I'm driving. :P
Thats exactly what happened to mine now that you mention it.
Now, the real question is, did any of you guys have these?...
I had one for my SVO way back years ago , no pics though .
I always like 'em "braless". ;);)
On all my birds Ive never had one, but I do know they made them for them. If I could ever find one for it I would rock it. Im the nostalgia type though, Im trying to keep my bird on the old 80's look for the most part with a couple modern touchs here and there.
My wife has one of those things on her little KIA Rio.
I'll have to post some old pics of my Bird with a Bra. I ran with it and headlight covers. I liked the way it looked. I quit using it after I got it painted. I also had one on my 95 Bird with headlight covers. I thought it looked good. I'll get a pic from my cardomain page and post it.
Here's a couple more.
