it was pretty bad and had seen better days. The body was solid minus the doors and trunk lid. dinged up, bent up hood from coming unlatched

tearing it down..

Love that color of white!  It really lends itself well to the TC.  Nice work so far.  The only thing I see that needs changed is to lower it a tad.  Great save!

I usually don't like white cars, but that looks great. I just noticed the aftermarket replacement header panel. You did
a great job on the old girl. I miss my chrome Cobra R wheels.

Nice paint.. nice.

I see you've got a gap between hood and header. I also have an aftermarket header, and mine is the same way. It was a huge gap, and I've managed to s it up a bit, but it's still there, a little worse than yours is. Irritating..but I've got some bent metal in the front, I can't make it any better. :punchballs:

Thank you, its a pretty cool car.....Ive wanted one for awhile and it was great to save one from destruction. the condition it was in it could have been the end.

Im going to replace this header panel I didnt even know it was an aftermarket until after it was going back together, its driving me crazy!

Did you have a hard time getting the door side moldings flat after removal? I am dragging my feet getting mine completed because I am worried about it.

Looks real nice. Good job.

dan,

yep it was lenape.

I took the aluminum off an extra molding I had for like a month to make sure it wasnt going to "shrink" I didnt think it would and it did not. So I did it to all of them.......they look great

It looks real good! I can't wait to see it in person. Those kids should be proud, they did a great job! They defenately have a good teacher. I saw a van that was done at our vo-tech and it had more waves in it than the ocean!

lol Im good friends with the teacher....they are on a tight time schedule up there but he had them spend a good amount of time on this car

Im super picky and its probably the best repainted car Ive owned. they spent a TON of time on prep getting dings out. and spent a lot of time wet sanding and buffing. They are also doing a restoration on another teachers duster there. the parts theyve finished so far are awesome looking

now once I get this  OEM header panel painted ill be good to go

After reading this post and seeing it was done at a vo-tech local to the owner i had an idea.
i went to school for collison repair and we repainted my blue 88 TC.
well i have my 87 TC thats a lil rough. i contacted my Body Shop teacher, drove the car up to him wednesday and its will be in the classroom in the fall for a mini exterior restoration!
cant wait to have another one of my cars in that classroom 12 years after the last!

That is a fantastic looking TC!!  Do you have any interior or engine bay pictures of it?  Also, what did you do to polish out the headlights and corner lights?

That is the best way to reuse the moldings. It works like a charm.

Your Turbo Coupe looks great. That Mark VIII color makes it pop more that the factory white ever did.

Sorry I've been on vacation and I haven't checked this in awhile.

I wet sanded with 2000 then went to 3000 and hand buffed them with meguires plastic polish. I've been using turtle wax ice on them after.

No interior pics yet. Its still in pieces and needs work. Engine bay is clean I wish I had before and after pics of it.

Thanks!

Wow! I don't believe this! I'm from Kittanning area, and graduated from Lenape Tech in 2005. I was in Auto Tech tho, not Auto Body. Great job they did. I know where the trader horn is in your pic. Indiana Pike? Anyway great looking car, can't wait for the two of ours to meet along the road somewhere. LOL

No man mine is Simialar to a cobra blue. If you look in the user rides section it's in there. It hasn't seen pa yet, but the first of August, it will be roaming around. The car is current in SC, a buddy of mine getting it all hooked up... I'm in Afghanistan and redepmoying the first part of July. Keep yours eyes open in August, I'll be in Ford City/ Manorville a lot. You graduated in 2005? My name is Clint. Btw.. beautiful engine bay lol
