I see thunderbirds with body kits sometimes. I have an 87 Thunderbird LX and I was wondering were people get them, or if they make them. Also, will the nose piece of the Turbo Coupe (The nose without a grill) fit on a LX (it has the grill)? becuase I want to replace the grill with the solid metal nose.

The body kits are no longer available new.
Yes the turbo Coupe nose will fit the lx, but you will also need the inner marker lights from the Turbo Coupe too. The inner marker lights are different on the TC. Also , just a little side note, the nose isn't metal it is fiberglass.

The Turbocoupe header panel (one without grille) is not made out of metal, more like fiberglass just like the LX header panel. I think there are a couple companies that make body kits still, but they are very expensive.

oh okay i didnt realize it was fiberglass. What is the difference with the inner lights?

I didnt realize the inner lights were different. I just ordered a TC header panel. Guess I have a little more shopping to do.

They are slanted more where they meet the center part of the header panel.

Ground fx kits are out there, you just have to be patient. I've wanted a set for mine for a long time and kept watching for them. Usually they're not cheap, because they're so hard to come by but I finally got lucky this past winter when a set came up for sale on here. They're the same as the kit used on the Bill Elliot edition T-Birds. I'll post a pic. I can't wait until I have the cash to get them painted and put on!

I've got a nice headerpanel in my ad but no inner markers if interested.
