Different EEC.

The '88 cars had full boost in ALL forward gears. (this statement alone will start an argument, just you sit there and watch)

Different window trim for the rear glass.

Some other minor odds and ends, but what I mentioned are the biggest things.

Besides the already mentioned EEC 4 differences.  Later 88 A4LD has two solenoids, LA3 had full boost in all gears not just 1 and 2.

That is all I got.

I don't think so. That is a miss print if it is written that way.

My 88 has rubber around the back window and my 87 has chrome. You are on your own about the boost!!!!

I just gotta throw a wrench in the works

If the LA3 was first seen in 88 TC's, how did I wind up with one in my 87 that I got in Aug 87 and that's not been swapped out?

Same with my 87. This was a quote from a turbo coupe guy that is known for his knowledge on the car.

That is all i am going to say. I plead the fifth.

I know the answer to this but i shutter to discuss it .

Ramair I was thinking the same thing, those wheels fill the fender wells in nice and look sharp.

LA3 is the 5 speed EECIV computer tune in the late TCs.

87 has snap on one piece screw covers, 88 has two piece screw covers with a chrome piece the cover snaps onto.

OK, thanks. They appear to look the same in the brochures. Amazing how many little thing Ford changed from year to year.

duh, yea, now I remember. You posted a picture of the two piece covers. :hick:

Possible. Tom Renzo swears his '87 has an LA3, (I'm not saying I don't believe him) but with Ford running things, hell, it's possible. If it's late enough of an '87 it is likely to have an LA3. Pop the passenger side kick panel off, and with a small light, you can tell what ya have. :)
