Hey guys, i need to remove some chrome trim around the rear windscreen, getting a little rust appearing at the base of the window and want to attack it before it gets too bad.
now in the event that i break anything, i'm pretty stuffed as i won't be able to get replacements without major costs/effort.
I realise the question has been asked before, and i realise its held on with clips.
but i'd like to know the best method for getting the clips released.
If there is a tool available for it, does anyone have a photo of it?
thanks
And as my sig says, its an 83.
i realise theres a difference between earlier and later models.
double post
Here is a pic of my removal tool
From the 84 shop manual.
Not a very good picture but the tool looks pretty simple. I just slid a screwdriver under mine to pry it off, but something thinner may be better.
Thanks guys, both are very helpful.
Will see if i can find a tool like that locally.
Try an auto glass shop. They may have the correct tool.
I've ordered the pliers, just have to wait till they get here :D
don't want to take any chances!
that and i'll need them a few times anyway for when it gets resprayed.
I use something like this to remove almost all the trim on my car.

Order some new clips too. They like to rust.
I glued my front trim on this time
As did I. The rear as well. ;)
I happened to get a bunch of new(ish) clips from Kitz for my back window.. or I would have glued that too
