Title: Sightings about town
Post by: hypostang on January 27, 2012, 07:59:07 PM
I just went to pick up a free bedliner for my daughter's F150 across town from a guy on craigslist and I saw  THREE 87/88 T-birds while on the trip.  A red one, a black one and a two tone gray one .... sadly I was unable to get pictures because only one was parked and I was driving .:hick:
I am going to start carrying my digital camera in the car now

There is a pretty decent looking white 87-88 TC? running around Karns. I get ready to wave, and then I remember what car I'm in. lol.

...and I'm sure you're well stocked up on forum cards to adorn every single spot of those cars with;)

I really don't see many any more and when I do I almost get the urge to follow them until they stop so that I can talk to them but then I remember most people really don't give a  about these cars other than being something to drive and so that would be creepy....

Most of the cars that I do see though are always 4 eyes. I did see a black TC the other day though. The first one I've ever seen out on the road in real life. 87/88 TC's are kinda like bigfoot to me. I've seen lots of pictures but never been near one lol.

I saw a green 4 eye bird today. Was an old couple driving it. Actually almost all of the birds around here are owned by older people. And when I say old I mean like they bought it brand new when they retired.

I've seen a couple in Morgantown WV on the way to work. One is a four eye the other is an 87-88. I'd like to catch them at the gas station to give them one of Steve's cards.

you know what I'm learning from this thread (and from the classifieds) is that cougars are vastly outnumbered by birds. Has it always been this way? Or are we just falling greater victim to the natural extinction of all vehicles?

That's the way it's been from my perspective since these cars were new.

BTW, I just saw an '87 or '88 TBird LX or Sport with hot pink above the molding and grey below the molding.

It appeared to be a sport, it had the sport gauges and seats at least, with dead tags.

Life's been busy. Real busy.  Car is down pick up is down and in the middle of doing all the things around the house I ignored for the last two year building the car. Hopefully I can get a few things done and get the car on the road for the summer nationals. I'm heading to Carlile next week wanted to take the bird maybe next year.
Your brother is good people the three guys I was with at that car show all have known him for years and all had nothing but good to say about him. Next time your up we'll have to go crusin.

Hypo, are you close to Bristol?  Im going down there for the 4th of July, and you seem to see way more Birds than I think still exist in NY.  I can't wait to see if there are any old Birds down there.  The pics you have been posting up have me really craving a four eyed bird.  I still dream about my 85 Turbo Coupe and I lost it 13 years ago.

I'm about 150 miles south of Bristol.. which in Tennessee is  "right down the road"

I never see any presentable fox'birds or cougars around my area....they are all thoroughly clubbed dd's that would not even make good parts cars.

I was at Sears this past saturday and saw this in the parking lot. I just wish I would've thought to put a card on the windshield. Then while driving I saw another four eyed and an 87-88 Bird. That's the first time in along time I've seen so many Fox Birds in the same day.

I saw two in the same day while down in Tennesse, a 87-88 in Bristol.  Then a four eyed one in the Harriman area that afternoon.  I knew there would be more T-birds down there.  I actually found a four eyed bird locally to me, It needs a lot of trim on the exterior, kinda scarring me off of offering any money on it.

I saw a 87-88 silver turbo coupe, it was behind me on my way home from dinner with the family.  The wife rolled her eyes, as I told my daughters I used to drive the same car to High School every day.  I couldn't stop, but I did take notice which road he turned off on to.  Ill have to keep an eye on this car.  Only @3 miles from my house, hope to see a lot more of it.
