Need ideas or assistance to integrate an Aux input jack into a stock premium sound system in an 88 bird or 87 20th coug
Dont want to use the AM or FM transmitters though, especially the FM ones since they mux with near by cars and screw with your signal.
or home made FM transmitter that would cure this issue, then im re-sold on the transmitter
I know turbocoupe50 had an AM one that seemed to cure this but i cant seem to find a thread on it, its been several years ago.
Easy tape deck plug. What are you looking to do? Wireless is a was of time if you can just throw in a tape adaptar.
my son has an aftermarket head unit which is old enough that it does not have an aux input.
thats the objective, to get his car set up with an aux input. having an aux input will make one of his Christmas presents work.
Wally World had a Pioneer cd player w aux input, a pair of 6.5s,and a pair of 6x9's for $85. All sold out down here, but that's going to be the easiest way, and a heck of a value.
yeah,
in my coug, i just use the tape deck adaptor, his is a cd player about 4 years old.
Its my understanding that aux ports are just recently being integrated into aftermarket head units.
I've used these with good success.

Really, for about $100, you can get a current aftermarket headunit that will have an AUX input. Since the car already has an aftermarket unit, I'd suggest that, instead of messing with trying to make an older one work. if it was a stock unit you were trying to keep working, then yeah, mess with a "kit".
