on horsepower tv's 427 MN-12 build, they used chuck's mounts and even gave him some on-air recognition by giving his site name  pretty freakin' cool in my book!

Sweet. Congrats Chuck !! Can I have your autograph?
I remember, that it was cool. Congrats Chuck.
Yeah, they never bothered to tell me when was originally going to air, nor did they ever send me any of the (minor) swag they mentioned. They asked for free parts, I gave them to them, never heard from them again.
It was cool and all, but the ONLY email I got was from some guy asking if I'd build motor mounts to put one of the BB I6's in his MN-12 (That he called "Jenny"). *facepalm*
well that sucks! that episode originally aired in.. june? i never knew FE block mounts were the same as windsor mounts, good to know for future reference.. i always thought they shared the 429/460 family mounts.. we should start and online petition for chuck to get his compensational swag! lol
That 427 is a 351-based engine, not an FE.
I'm not too worried about it. It's just rude, that's all. I didn't expect the mentions to be some kind of windfall or anything.
i thought they said FE based 427.. i'll have to watch it again
You mean not everything on TV is true!! Next you'll tell me that the internet contains falsehoods also.................
according to ford racing's site, it's boss based.. maybe i was thinking of something else being FE based, iunno
Email I got today....
"do you make motor mounts for 1988 xjs that would alow me to put a v8 chevy ?"
*facepalm*
Well......do you or not!!!!! I've been wanting to do this very swap for years and I'm lost in a sea of ignorance...HELP ME CHUCK!!!!! ;)
They also called it a Fox bird on the first episode.
i was talking to graham on facebook and i said i wished they did a fox bird lol.. pretty sure they didn't call it a fox, though.. i'm almost certain they called it an MN-12.. i do know they did a quick review of all bird generations, so the fox was mentioned

NOTE: i am NOT a star trek nerd, it came up in google search lol
Good job anyway chuck, yeah it is rude.
people generally speaking are becoming more and more disconnected even with all the virtual connections in place than 10 short years ago.
And just WHAT is wrong with liking Star Trek? :beatyoass:
Had another email Tues
While closer, still no. Some folks just don't get the fact that to make custom mounts it requires having both the car AND the engine handy (OR 3D CAD drawings of both)...which I don't have, in either case.
it's boring, it's extremely unrealistic, it's boring, william shatner is a tool, it's boring.. should i go on? lol i only like movies/tv shows that are realistic, i don't know what people see in sci-fi movies.. but that's just my opinion, so i shall counter your bat-carrying smilie with 2! bat-carrying smilies :beatyoass: :beatyoass: :giggle:
as for the last email you received..
i believe there is a company that builds windsor-to-heep cj mounts.. i've seen quite a few of these swaps in the past couple years, both at shows and out in the woods.. i believe said-company makes long-tube headers as well

The Shat is awesome and has been since he learned to have a sense of humor about himself. Sorry you were born with a limited imagination and can't appreciate Sci-Fi. ;)
my imagination is reserved for things of automotive nature lol
You oughtta go to a klingon thanksgiving. My dads friend is or was head editor for iscifi.com years ago. He invited us over and we ate klingon food and couldn't speak with out a klingon-engish translator book.
Nothing wrong with star trek. I wouldn't cosider myself to be a trekkie, but I can appreciate other people using it as a distraction from everyday life. Some people do take it to extremes though.

Yeah, like my automotive pursuits are the stuff of "normal" car guys...
have you ever seen the movie 'fanboys'? :rollin: it completely made star trek super-fans look like complete and total morons hahah i know they were just stretching it to make them look completely idiotic, but it was still hilarious
but what the heck is klingon? sounds like a clingy ex girlfriend
Google is your freind.

um.. they made star trek movies? lol
Probably 15... I can think of 10 off hand, and I haven't seen every one or have watched most of the new ones.
wow.. i've never even heard of 1 hahah
Hmm. I am better versed then I thought. 11 movies total. Your living under a rock. Thr last movie hit the 7th highest grossing movie for 2009.
i guess it doesn't help that when i watch TV, i pause it and wait a while before i start watching, so i can skip commercials.. the fact that i don't know any trekkies doesn't really help the fact either lol
That would be 'John's Cars' in Texas for the Jag conversions. (Obscure factoid)
I am a Next Generation kind of guy myself. I have all the episodes on my HTPC hard drive. They lost me with Voyager and Deep Space 9, though. I was a fan of Enterprise at first. It could have worked I thought.
I am chewing off my nails waiting for the next 'new' Star Trek film. I love the way they used the alternate reality device to allow a new set of old characters.
The Dr. Who Christmas special will be coming out soon, too.
Sci-fi is king. My whole family enjoys watching it together.
scifi never tickled my fancy, i don't know why.. i guess i just have a nack for 'realistic' things.. although i love gremlins, but who doesn't? hahah
I can take or leave scifi but a good zombie movie or show that's for me :macgun:
i found myself watching the walking dead a few times, mostly because of the drama that occurs.. the end of the last episode was shocking as hell, i couldn't believe the little girl was in the barn with all the 'walkers'
As cold as I can be, that actually tugged a heart string or two
the writers definitely planned that 1 to be a bit of an emotional trip.. and it worked.. it made for great tv though.. but in the end i always remember, it's just a tv show and they're just actors lol
Try telling that to my Mom, with the soap opera she watches she gets mad at the actors like its real. I talked to several soap addicted women and they all talk like its real?:dunno:
my mom used to be huge on soaps, she still watches general hospital.. i heard that they're all getting the ax in the next couple years.. there are going to be some HIGHLY pissed off middle aged women lmao
Her
I don't have my turbocoupe any more, but just in case I ever get another one, I kept my chuck W mounts!
and quit talking about the walking dead!!! I'm looking for a way to watch this season, I don't have cable.
i would suggest hulu, but it's not free anymore!
I think you can wath it a amc.com? ceck it out
probably, most tv stations throw 'new' episodes up on their website after they air on tv, so they probably have an archive with the full season
