so finishing up my line lock, I was testing it out when I let it out the car started to roll foward, no big deal till I pressed the gas and brake together dragging the wheels and slamming in to a camaro I bought to sell(oops!!!!) also I now need a new drivers clear parking light
THE CARNAGE:

Ouch, that sucks. I've got a single clear parking light in the garage. I'll check it and see if it's the drivers side. Are they interchangable by chance?
No but I definitely want it it its the drivers side
That sucks...what did it do the the camaro?
That's not "really bad". Smash in the rear quarter....that's bad. You're lucky that it's merely a flesh wound.
Man that sucks beautiful car
nothing much broke the same light and tore the bumper a little
That aint no joke. Before my paint job I let me car roll off some of those car ramps you use to change your oil. I forgot it was in neutral and it narrowly missed me and slammed into the garage door opening. Put a pretty decent dent on the quarter panel right below the fuel door.
Definately hurt my pride...I'm just glad I wasn't in between it and the door or I might be 10 toes up right now ;).
Yea could be worse...at least no one was hurt. I messed up once and had my 93 topaz land in my lap. I somehow managed to come away without any major injuries.
If you look in my garage you'll see a few little burn outs. Ive never gave it much thought till now. I'm sorry you hurt yours and I hope I'm smart enough to learn from your mistakes.
Good luck on the search for parts hope to see some more videos from you at the track
Bah thats an easy fix, i did a 65 mustang coupe for a guy 2 years ago, full resto new quarters, floors, ect, the day he brought it home he was backing it off the trailer, thought he put it in gear when it was in neutral and it rolled into a huge tree, smashed the rear body panel, and hit the quarter so hard it was pushed up against the door. Had to replace that same quarter again, Now that was a big F-up!
So the bird is on it's way back to beauty!!!!!!!!!! I now have to remake the bumper reinforcement.

Looking good so far Jeremy :headbang:
I didn't know you had an aluminum bumper bar! That's awesome! Hope you get it back into shape soon.
yeah, I made them front and back saved like 60lbs.
whats up with your rear window? Is that all it looks like without the moulding? pretty sharp
yep new non defrost, and no trim
Two words:
parking brake ;)
Those bumper supports are sweet!
I need one on the front of my junk to offset all the weight I added.
I bent them up in my vice, a little at a time
so I think I got carried away with the body work, I must not like driving my car.lol

This spot I forgot I had to do
(http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w92/03grinnie/T-bird/IMAG0412.jpg)
little rust in the door jamb
(http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w92/03grinnie/T-bird/IMAG0410.jpg)
Oh my. I guess while you are redoing the bumper, might as well fix the other dings. :)
I thought you have to put body filler on bare metal so it sticks and doesn't crack?
yeah, I grind out the damaged area and then fill the area and sand down, saves you from having waves from feathering out the paint then filling, an old school body man taught me that trick. works like a charm, did the hole car that way
You are a madman. Good luck on her!
ready for paint

Look at you go!
Looks good. You have skills.
my dad taught me that.. i tried doing it the other way and it's a real pain to get the 'edge' of the paint feathered down to eliminate the wave.. been doing it this way ever since.. takes a good deal of headaches out of getting the right 'form'.. she's looking good so far!
well I might have time to paint it on sunday but I have to finish the horizontals on her car first.lol
It's nice you can do your own work. Looking good.
well da boss(wifey) said paint her car first or else..... so now i'm out of sealer because I used it in her car.lol hopefully this weekend I can get some red on my baby. oh and that blue is $240 a quart OUCH!!!!!!!!

NICE PAINT JOB! But horrible car. :)
That came out really nice. I wish I had someone with your skills here to wave the gun over my car.
Very nice paint!!! Hey the Cavaliers are better than the Cobalts. The wife has a 2000 Cavy w/ 200K+ no problems, her new '07 cobalt........lol.
What do you use for sealer Thunder?
Dupont ChromaPremier it is one of the best on the market, it lays down very smooth
I agree, when I met my wife she had a 1995 cavalier and we traded it in with no a/c and 215,000 for our new one, and I never changed anything but tires and brakes.
I was joking about the horrible car. I'm sure it has served your wife well.
I am very impressed with your bodywork and painting skills. Too bad you don't live closer. You'd be making some money off me on my paint job.
Is all good, no offence taken...lol. Afterall it is a Chevy...lol.
I am ready for paint!!!!! all sanded just need $150 for a qt of red and $65 for primer, I hate painting supplies
