This invite will be opened to Foureyedpride forum members and classic cougars of america members too.
Let's open up the chatter to see how many people can make it here this summer. :burnout:
Our room is reserved :headbang:
Come on out and enjoy the fun.
We ate at Bob Evans last year but Waffle house is down the road.
May plans NOW
You know I'm in! I'll make our reservations tonight. I will do at least one pull. Car should be all tuned by then and already have solid numbers, but who doesn't like to see cars on the dyno?? :hick:
Dan, thanks for takin the lead on the organizing effort. The two changes from last year, lunch at the park vs. Greg's place and cruise-in in town vs. 45mins away or however far it was, look like positive ideas!

Having a Chinese auction......... youve got so many down there you have to auction them???? Whats up?
Mike like this:

The family & I are definites, again, this year. We'll be leaving Hopkinsville Saturday morning to get up there. We had an absolute blast last year & we were pimping a Korean ride. I cannot wait to see how much more fun we'll have with a Thunderbird up there. It'll be interesting to see if there's anything Greg can do with Project 'underbird once it's up there.
Thank you guys so much, Dan & Greg, for getting this together for a second year. It's truly appreciated!
I would like to see as many forum members as possible MAKE it there. Not post something along the lines of "we're there," only to back out the week of TCDD2. If you can't bring your Cougarbirds or Thundercats, at least bring yourselves and your families. IMHO, it's not the cars that made the day, but the people that dig 'em. If anyone wants to go, but needs a ride, I'm more than willing to offer a seat in the 'underbird.
Gumby, you still up for a race? You've got a turbo, but I've got two more cylinders than you, so I might spot you a car length...
Dan, we're going to sneak Paula's Cougar on the dyno when you're not looking :headbang:
Scott , Paula says you're a funny  guy also.
Man I wish I wasn't so far away. We'll see what the $ says in the next couple o' months about whether or not I can make it.
MEOW! MEOW!
if i go would you like to hitch a ride with me on the way up ;)
Now THAT'S what I'm talking about... Shake and bake, dog!
Um, let me think abo--- uh, YEAH!! If I don't have one of my cars ready by then and I can scrounge up the $200 or so it'll take, then hell yeah I'm in Nick:D I was gonna ride up with another member but it just so happens that the only weekend of the year he has plans he can't get out of are on TC weekend lol.
We'd be taking THE infamous
blown306cougar right?:burnout:
It wouldn't be a party without Nick!
I'll definitely come with something this year. One or two of the cars in the signature, anyway. :)
Everything is driveable at the moment. I'm most interested in tuning on the 460 Vic though!
I WISH! :disappoin:shoothead:shakehead:makefun:
the cougar has bin gone since august of last year:toilet: :(
if you want a ride in ole Blown306cougar you will have to see "Steve Cougarking" for a ride in it. he has it now it has a nice home... but not with me:crys:
over $10000.00 :toilet: all because of floridua
if i wanted the car back i could. but the reason why it's gone is because i had no place to store it to do the work needed on the car and no the drive train was fine and needed no work other then some retuning..
life goes on
i'll be going in this
http://s274.photobucket.com/albums/jj248/blown306cougar/Lincoln%20Mark%20VIII/
and i have done some mods to it..
http://s274.photobucket.com/albums/jj248/blown306cougar/
Nick
Suh-weet:D MK8's just as good:D
I'll let you know a couple weeks before if I'm gonna do it or not, but right now I'm pretty sure we'll be riding up together.
i can't afford to go to Carlisle now since i'm in the middle of fixing my A\C in the mark..
i have one more weeks vacation coming to me so thats when i plan to use it my next vacation after that is thanksgiving.. so unless i can't get the time off i'm going! i need to get out of FLORIDUA for a few days! so get your shiznit together and lets go!
i''ll need you to P/M me you address on the map your town seems to be on the way so it's no biggie..
Nick
oh and i have 300Gig's full copy's no rips of cd and dvd's for the drive.. 100Gig's of it is Frank Zappa :rollin: all kinds of stuff.. jazz, metal, death metal,classical,freestyle... and so on..
am i going to have to put some lynyrd skynyrd on the drive for you?
and if you want to act cool to your friends maybe i'll let you call them or chat with them from the car on the cruse up  yes it's ONLINE! we can download on the fly!:rollin:
I want to go this year! My school district starts back that following Monday, though... but i'm going to try to figure out a way to make it work. :burnout: I miss everybody! :drink:
I don't know if I'm going to be able to come or not. I used up all my vacation for the year already on my autox car, but If I did come, I'd bring the burgundy car just so I could lay down a good number on the dyno! I think my coming depends on where I'm at in the autox season standings. I'm tired of coming in second 3 years in a row.
ugh, you have an event scheduled that weekend? My August event is the 21st, so I didnt hafta chose one or the other :hick:
I'll be there as well.
Greg, I plan to dyno again. It's possible the new combination may be in by then..., or maybe not. The cars finally made it back into the garage this past Sunday. I have some scrambling to do to get it ready for the Power Tour in Indy on the 8th of June.
I'll be making my reservations soon.
Thanks Mark and we'll see you there friend. :headbang:
Nick I sent you a PM I don't know if you got it....
yes i did ;)
i'm going to need your phone number"cell" if you have one so we can talk about when we are leaving for the trip..
Nick
Wish I could make it!! I would love to drive the Cougar to Kentucky! I would love to get some more University of Kentucky stuff. I'll be in Colorado though on vacation.
You couldn't throw a dead cat without hitting UK stuff around here... ugh
Hmm....
Nick: Glad to here you are coming up
Be nice to just set around and bull shiznit.
Hope to have both cats up and running
Greg , JadeCat95 (Kevin) has told me he and his brother (Dan) will be coming down in August from Ohio also. :headbang:
Is this Thunderbird going to be there????
http://owensboro.craigslist.org/cto/2456403609.html :headbang:
Just over a month away and counting folks. :headbang: :burnout:
A little late, but I've reserved a room.
I dropped off the car to a body shop on Monday for a couple items. It'll look a little different.
Things are lookin up here as well. *i think* I have all the parts here to get this pile back together in time.
I liked your line in the Dream Engine thread, that your dream was to have four good connecting rods. Hope it comes together for you, or you might have to drive the red car w/blue mirrors!
Still dont have the black cat up and running yet. Should be SOOOON I hope.
We will have the turbo car up and running still If the engine gods are good to us.
Hope mother nature gets all this heat used up by then.
I should be there. WooWOO
w00t!! :headbang:
Another peek at last year's pics....

Dan & Paula ;)
As of today:
http://www.kentuckygasprices.com/Owensboro/index.aspx/
Dan & Paula ;)
I am disappointed and agitated to announce I will be unable to attend the event.
Suffice it to say, I have been committed to obligations by my staff (unbeknown to me until yesterday) which make it impossible to take three days away.
I've been looking forward to this since we set the date last year. It's great to be part of an annual get together with folks who actually know the difference between my car and a Turbo Coupe!
Getting the car ready has been a priority and I was hoping to 'reveal' some changes which have been in the works.
This is how it now looks after getting it back on Wednesday (after three weeks at the body shop).
The paint work looks great and while blending in the grill and hood, they took care of the "mechanics fenders" (you know the little dents you put in while bending over the engine bay) and 8 years of stone chips.
An additional bonus was the installation of 87/88 hood hinges (w/springs). Those of you who have an 83-86 know what it takes to get the hood up and deal with a prop rod! I'm still getting used to that...
I was hoping to enjoy the lack of wind leaks on the ride down, due to the NICE window seals I received from hcor early this week.
My apologies for the late notice and breaking a commitment.
Mark
Mark , You and your great looking :birdsmily: will be sorely missed this year friend. :disappoin
Aw Mark, that really sucks ass.
The new grille looks good, but not what I was expecting to see after a trip to paint....you were holding out on me!
I JUST refired my car....again. Hopefully I've got the gremlins exterminated this go round.
Your car looks great! It does suck you wont be able to go, not that I'd be there to see it in person, but it still sucks.
This sucks I want to go but am scheduled to be back in Canada at the end of this week
i may not make this one :(
i have to wait to this thursday if i can get this friday off
lame new company rules.well not new rules the rules are still the same my company just likes to change them whenever they choose to.. the rules are.. one driver, one warehouse, one sales and so on could have off at the same time. but since the warehouse is short on staff they only want one person from the warehouse/driver off at a time. and someone in the warehouse is off for the next to weeks which is only permitted if someone going out of the country and that person is going to Colombia.. and this trip is right in the middle of that persons time off.
but my company said if friday is slow i could take the time off...
so i have to wait and see..
oh and sarjxxx it's scott right i'm going to need a phone number to reach you at if i am able to go and you want me to pick you up on the way..
Nick
Hittin my loose ends punch list today
- Replaced rear u-joint - picked up a vib on the dyno at ~115mph
- Warrantied out the starter - wouldn't crank when heat soaked
- Smaller pulley on alternator - slow turn signals at idle
- Shorter belt for smaller pulley
- Replaced Idle screw - head stripped out
- Third bottle of water wetter this year...:punchballs:
So far so good.
Oh, and I am workin on a lil thing for the car that will not be seen on the forum till after ThunderCat day
If I wasnt saving for another car I would bring the Orange car down. I could use a little road trip right about now. Would be interesting to see how much power it doesnt put down.
Well,
i have some info and a change on my car that only Gumby has seen.
Won't be let out of the bag till after the Dyno Day
Hey there!
sarjxxx is not coming. He can't afford a hotel room, food, gas for the trip, or to take the time off work that he needs in order to make the trip. He is very sad and hopes everyone else who is attending will have a great time:cheers:
Can't really afford a room, so won't be there the whole weekend, but will try to at least get down there on Saturday.
Thanks for your reply Kevin. :rollin:
Hello to you too!
Strike one on my surprise project today.....only have enough time for one more strike, then its out.....
I want to go so bad! But it's like a 15-hour trip for me...and Monday is my district's first day back to work for teachers. I've thought about it all summer, but there's just no way. :disappoin
Y'all try to have fun without me. Maybe next year.
Heading over to Owensboro this afternoon....:rollin:

Some good pics there! I will work on sorting and uploading mine in a bit.
Here's what I got
http://s25.photobucket.com/albums/c73/gmby23/87%20turbocoupe/ThunderCat%20Day%202011/
Great pics gumby and nice to see all of your family there this time...kudos goes out for your 2 well behaved kiddo's. :headbang:
Awesome pictures. Hopefully by the next one my bird will be ready to fly on that Dyno. It would also be nice to visit a strip for some friendly competition. :)
Looks like the "usual suspects". Sorry I missed the group...
Oh, and no explination on the mondo trophy next to Greg's car?
Greg won a True Street NMCA race (I think that's accurate) a few months ago. Got a crown and all! Pretty spectacular, really.
Had a great time. It was fun to see everyone again.
Here are some of the pics I took over the weekend:

Thanks for the link, Ray. I was checkin out your supermotors page and didnt see anything. Now I know why
Supermotors has been really glitchy lately. I finally gave up on 'em. :)
Any plans yet this year for TCDD III?
Some very light discussion has taken place. Stay tuned.
