Hey guys, I am thinking about getting new rims and tires here in the near future. I would like to know if anyone has ever put 20s on a cougar before? if so, do you have any pics? I'm sorta looking at a set of 20s or maybe 18s but have not made up my mind yet.
I don't think 20's would look good on the body style. Might make it look like a roller skate. I have seen 18's and they were borderline IMO.

I have 20's on my SUV.. I couldn't imagine them looking good on my Thunderbird. I have 17x9's on my TC.
Here we go, took a couple photos so you could compare:

Wheels bigger than 17" look odd on a Fox car IMHO.
Unless you are going for a donk/lowerider/gangsta look, I would 2nd what Chuck says and stay 17" or under.
I would agree with the 17" rule also, except that Hawk has 18s on his car and it's pretty badass. His set-up is the result of some careful measurements. I would venture to say that most 18" wheels are not going to look right.

Whatever the case, 20s are not going to look good
20's are a nono. 18's if you can find a wheel that will look good(thats the hard part), 17's if you want a sidewall or better tire selection.
These are 18's on my car

These are 17's on my other car

18s will look fine as long as you nail the ride height/tires. Ride height is key with any plus-size wheel though.
FWIW, I've seen 19s on a Cougar and they looked awesome. If I can find the pic I will post it up.
hmm your blue one looks oddly firmilar.

yeah, but thats really the only decent way to separate the colors.
Thanks guys! I'm going to go with 18s. I think it is the look I'm going for. I will post pics when I get it done. I'm also finishing up with the window tint, so it going to be lookin' nice!
