Title: wanted cool air intake

hi guys,im looking for a cool air intake. it dont matter if it goes into the fenderwell or not. im just tinkering to see if will help. ive got a 87 sport factory 5.0. please email pics with price shipped. thanks dwight

Hey Dwight, check out craigslist and look for one for a mustang 5.0. I'm sure you'll find a bunch of them.

The kits are all over ebay. Mustang ones work fine if you have a mass air meter or something to put in its place

thanks! any 5.0 mustang that fits 86-93 will work right? will a cone filter coming off the factory tubing work?

I dont have an answer for that since I built all of my engine bay from pieces.  I have heard that removing the air silencer gives some improvement.

Remove the air silencer, install a high quality air filter in the factory box and you're good to go. The factory air box IS a CAI (Cold Air Induction) setup.

I did what Vinnie mentioned above to mine and it made a nice difference. I took mine out and put a K&N in the air box. When you open it up the engine is louder and there's a gain in power too. And it's cheaper than buying a cai.

+1. Although I'm running a Motorcraft paper air filter in mine.
