I have another Tripminder for sale. This is a Crown Vic/Grand Marquis unit that I have removed the brackets from. It is in nice shape with the words on the face not rubbed off. I currently have a red lens in it (for people with custom dash colors or whatever) but I can put the stock lens back in easily. $50 shipped with either lens, fox brackets, and custom harness for plug and play in most 85-88 cars.

The red is sweet! glws
Jeeze...me with a red illuminated cluster, and a lack of $. Wish we could do business....if you can find another red lens at least...I'd be really interested in one for later on ;-)
I ordered a big sheet of 1/16" red acrylic to make this one so I have plenty left over for future Tripminders and clocks too I guess.
That red is sweet. I wish my whole dash was red. Do you rebuild these? I have one that has fuel flow issues. It's off by a factor of ten. Strange. Anyway... Nice work!
Typically, I clean them up, polish the stock lens and flip it over to the non scratched inside (or replace it in this case,) clean the button contacts, repaint the lettering on the front if necessary (PITA,) attach correct fox brackets (most of the ones I find are from CV/GMs) and build a wiring harness for it. I don't know much about repairing the insides, sorry.
I think carm did repair one at one time. Maybe you can contact him.
Is it possible to get this with a green lens? My '88 SC has a green dash. I do like the blue but would like to have the same color throughout the dash and I'm guessing getting a green trimpinder would be easier than redoing the whole dash in blue.
The pictures make it look alot more blue than it really is. Here is a pic of me testing out an unfinished unit and it shows the color a bit better. Sorry for the fuzziness.

Also, I could order a green acrylic sheet and make a lens out of that, although the price would be a bit higher.
Here is a comparison of the stock clock green and a sample of the green that I can order.

Bump, I will take $40 shipped for it without the harness or clock brackets attached (you use your own.)
For some odd reason,I have to reset mine every morning. Crazy.
Your clock and date and all that stuff?
The clock keeps the time, but the date has to be reset every morning. If I drive off and on all day,it's fine, but after sitting all night,or all day,no date.Just the time and "reset" under it.
Wow, that is weird. I would think that it would lose it all or nothing at all. The one in my TC acts kinda funny too. It works fine and all but when you shut the car off the tripminder will stay on for anywhere from 5-20 seconds. Good ol' 80s technology/computers.
Bump
I need one. Mine went to doing some wild flashing when I started the car, then after a minute or so,it stopped flashing and I reset it. I'll see what I can do to come up with come funds. Mine are gone til I can sell some more parts.
Do you still have that nice stock stereo?
I do.....wanna trade?
That's what I was thinking.
I'm good with that. I can box it up and probably ship it to you Monday after work......if that's fair to you.
Yeah, that's fine by me. Do you know if the tape player works?
It worked great when it was pulled. Bill (the yard owner) ran jumper cables to the car and we were testing everything before we started tearing into for my dash and other pieces. Otherwise,it would stay with the car.
Awesome. Do you need me to put mounting brackets on the tripminder or are you planning on reusing yours?
Either way. If I do it,what is your method? I've never dealt with them as far as swapping brackets. Also,PM me your address info.
Is your unit originally from a fox car?
Yes it is.....I'm assuming. The brackets are for my car,and they seemed to be riveted on I believe.Or fastened something similar.
Yes Vinnie I pulled it from an 84 Elan
Yeah, sounds like a fox unit. They come riveted on stock. I attach the brackets with epoxy. Personally, I would prefer the riveted on brackets to epoxied on ones. I haven't had any epoxied ones come loose, but the riveted seems like it would be better. If I were you, I would take apart both tripminders and use your case w/brackets and the insides of the one I have. If you don't feel like messing with it, you can send it along with the radio and I can do it.
The one I have in there now was a "reman" unit I believe. The other one I traded some time ago thinking I didn't need two of them. Well, maybe I was wrong. I had them side by side in a box when I did the dash swap. Grabbed one and installed it. When I realized which one I had installed,I decided to leave it in.
ok then :P
Done deal. Stereo shipping out Monday after work.
