I was on my way home from speaking with the navy recruiter earlier, which was aggravating enough, and I got off my exit and as I'm waiting at the red light a kid in a riced out, primer spray painted hyundai pulls up next to me and says, "Hey man, you drive that grandma car like its a race car!" I told him that it wasn't really a grandma car and he goes, "Oh, I thought it was a Buick, my bad." then drives off. :beatyoass: Then to top off my lovely day, my rear brake line decided to blow out as I was turning onto my road.:punchballs:
What an idiot! :nkhk:
Don't sweat the little stuff.
Gotta love the kids.
that sucks, I have been asked if my car is a mustang like 10 times, mostly at car shows, hopefully by people that don't own fords lol.
You shoulda been like "Actually, my grandma drives a hyundai."
:rollin::rollin::rollin:
He was driving a Hyundai...enough said
Well I'm only 18, this guy looked like he was in his early 20's.
Dude, a guy driving a red Honda who I was meeting to sell some audio equipment asked "Is that you in the copper Buick?" while I was driving my 88 LX. Which appears to be the same color as your car. Don't sweat it.
Buicks are actually great automobiles, from the ones I've owned at least.
Exactly. When his car is as old as yours is, it will either be rotting away in a syard or turned into a soda can.
Turned INTO a soda can??
IT ALREADY IS A SODA CAN!!!!!
I get the nice Mustang comment all the time with my 86 Capri. Luckily most people I've run across seem to know exactly what my Bird is and appreciate it!!
Buick? Pffft...... no comment there.

ha ha. thats good. i had a similar experience a little while back. i had my left rear caliper blow out slowing down to get the interstate. it would have been so bad if i didnt have to go around a hairpin turn at 60 mph. i dang near was doin fred flintstone to get it stopped.
had a kid call my silver TC a firebird yesterday. I threatened his life  no worries he's the cart boy at walmart lol
Some cashier at the gas station told me I had a nice grand national... That's a buick I wouldn't mind having!
But I wonder how could somebody who knows what a grand national is, not be able to tell that my cougar is NOT a GN?
He did have pen 15e-bottle glasses though...
People always know my car is a T-bird. 9 times out of 10 when people complement the car at a stop light they ask if it's for sale. People keep wanting to buy my car...
Until you need to sell it... Then you can't find anybody.
cept they're all UGLY. I don't even like the new ones.
Except the GN, only cause it looks just like a MC.
:rollin:
That is good. I'll remember that one. I swear I'm gonna use it at some point.
I don't get it. Even when I was younger and didn't know sh t about cars I never thought of these as grandma cars. I mean, I live in florida, the retired old people capitol of the world, and all I see here is Towncars and Cadillacs, and ugly ass buicks. Never has anything with two doors ever brought to mind the idea of a grandma car to me...
I've always wanted a thunderbird. To be honest, I had never heard of a Cougar when I got mine. But when I got my cougar, I was so happy. And I was only 20 when I got it. I just thought it looked so bad ass. I loved the really long engine bay, that was what stood out to me the most. Idk, I just don't understand why people see these like grandma cars. I can understand people seeing them as POS daily drivers, cause unfortunately, a lot of them are. But, these cars just have so much more style than, well, almost everything. Especially Hyundais.
I live right behind an off leash dog park. All kinds of young adults walk by all the time and also say "nice firebird, nice trans am" ??? . And the people that do read the emblems (maybe because of the then radical styling in the 80's ) think it is a early 2000's model ???
And then the best part is "does it got a Hemi ? " WTF man ????
Hey, who you callin ugly?

Buick made some good looking cars back then. And yes, the GN is sweet. My friend had a Regal that needed some paint, so of course he painted it primer black. Tons of people thought it was a GN. And then he flipped it over a stone wall....
umm, right. Sorry. forgot to be clear, I meant from the 80's--->
this one ain't too bad to pick up strippers in: tiger woods edition:D
now that looks like a tater bug to me:rollin:
or a full tic
if you say so, seems like the new "smart" is stupid, and if your not stupid then your an idiot to them. this aint just about cars either,
