Paint is peeling the clear coat
Trunk seal is junk
Tires are wore out
Radio is dead
Plastics are fading
Rear seat has a 7" rip.

What's the deal?  Nobody on the west coast wanting this?  Am I the only one?  Don't make me fix it up.

The car does have California emissions equipment.  That EGR is the same as the one I had on my 85 Cougar.  Looks normal to me.:D

The wheels are very faded poly cast.  I haven't seen many either.

like i said,
cali = odd.

that is no standard factory EGR,, ask me how I know.
all these cars met cafe standards during this eara and that is something of a local state code mod,,

its just a friggin diverter valve monitored by an EVP sensor,, how simple could it get.

I suppose cali could have mandated this, although its a first egr like that ive seen.

looks like your average run of the mill 3.8 to me,,just as you would find on the east coast.
smog pump, emissions solenoids under the coolant tank,,ect ect, nothing different other than that beffy lookin egr.

Yup, just as the factory built it.  That EGR must be California fare. It was origonally purchased in Trona, Ca. at Van Dyk Ford.  Now out of buisiness.  Trona has about 1200 people and the Ford dealer only sold what was ordered.  They never had cars in stock.  They also sold Isuzus for a while.

Gee, I guess you all are going to make me keep it.  I was hoping to get back down to three cars.  The MN-12 is first in line for repair.  Everything works except the front end is wore out.

Actually, I sold the black one after I put the XR7 together and even though its the same it isnt a T Bird and I am trying to learn to like it. By the way I have the same egr set up on the 83 here and it came from CA also so I would guess your right with your thought on CA emissions. I will try to find out in the next day or so on shipping

That's OK with me.  It's not costing me a cent to keep it around.  I have a sale pending on the 82 Cougar wagon.  I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the 92 tbird.  I just don't like that car.  It was fine for 12 years but it feels so heavy compared to the Fox birds.

The 86 may just become a project some day.  The needs list is long but nothing expensive.  Just a lot of small individual projects.

That's it.  It's a project now.  I only have one mechanical item that needs repair.  The rest are cheap and fairly easy.

I guess you are all pleased with yourselves making me fix 'er up.

Time is getting short.  Fabulous Fords Forever is coming up in 5 months.:D  I've got to get the paint rollers warmed up.
