Ronin
Gone in 60 seconds (the 74 version)
Smokey and the Bandit
I don't know..... I'm a Smokey and the Bandit fan since I saw it in 76.
Smokey & the Bandit (1 & 2 ..3 sucked balls) was full of car chases, but it was a '70's CB Radio movie.
My wife hadn't seen it, before, so she watched it for the first time five years ago :headbang:
Bullitt
Original Gone in 60 Seconds
Mad Max
Smokey and the Bandit
Those are my favorites.
I also remember going to the drive-in with my parents and watching Smokey and the Bandit when it first came out.It left a HUGE impression on my young car crazy mind.
Not a chase movie, but,a cool car,I just ordered the first two seasons of Starsky and Hutch.Got 3 more seasons to order.Sweeeeet. That made quite the impression on me as well during the same years back in the mid 70's when I was but a wee lad.
I was also a fan of Jim Rockford too... he did a few chase scenes in his car too
D'oh, I forgot about, well, pretty much all of Cannonball Run 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFB6FfaNQ40) and 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoM9JJxO-CA&feature=related)
Ahh yes,, and the chocolate monk. lol
Funny.LOL. I had forgotten about Cannonball Run. I have a free rental from Blockbuster coming to me.I think I'll get it.I haven't seen that in probably 10 or 12 years.
I'm throwing in The Gumball Rally also :D
And I have my 10 year old daughter indoctrinated so well she can quote dialogue from Smokey and the Bandit
Gumball rally !!! Another really bad movie, that was really cool.
What about Burt Reynolds in "Hooper" ?
Clint Eastwood's...
Dirty Harry
&
The Gaunlet
And my favorite 3 second street race at the end of better off dead
Awesome hole shot from that Camaro ;)
The real Gone in 60 Seconds (1974)

I thought The Transporter movies had some pretty cool chases in them. I tried to find the scene from the first movie on YouTube but I wasn't able to.
Dennis Weaver's car chase was pretty much the whole movie ... Part 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1003em-pDM8&feature=related) ... Part 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7TixHbC3rw&feature=related)
Found the original Gone in 6o Seconds (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6-TlxADdA4&feature=related) chase, replied with earlier :headbang: ...and part 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9BFG04i-aQ&feature=related) ...and Part 3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UC4L0mbHDk&feature=related) ...and Part 4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfiD2k-CMe0&feature=related) ...and last, but not least, Part 5 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8C3mg7kE6k&feature=related)
Special Magnum (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3P9BvD4hzio&feature=related)
The "Days of Thunder" rental car scene was always a favorite of mine :burnout:
I can't believe no one thought of the car chase(s) in The Blues Brothers!! Thru the mall, thru the RV, thru the air, thru Chicago........
Two lane blacktop, not really a car chase, but street racing
Okay here's an old one for you. The whole movie is pretty much a chase. Grand theft auto. A young Ron Howard stars in it. I have a ton of car movies.
how can the '74 not be a top vote? best chase ever
no particular order on my votes
I was watching the new Gi60S and found some interesting rides...
a '94 or '95 Thunderbird, and a couple of Mark 7's
and I can't tell whether this is a Cougar or a Continental ...
I can't believe no one has said Vanishing Point new or old.
There's also Eat My Dust with Ron Howard.
how about duel ( dennis weaver)? a dart getting chased by a big rig.
Oh yeah! That's defenately a classic!
I read that the same person responsible for Bullitt did another movie called "Robbery"(?) which has a very similar chase. That movie doesn't appear to be available.
Nobody's mentioned "The Seven Ups" (also very similar to Bullitt, including Bill Hickman as the baddie), "The Driver", "The Italian Job" (old and new), "Initial D", or the race movies, "Grand Prix", "Winning", "Le Mans".
I think I'm forgetting a few.
