Ok heres the deal. I sold my house and will be moving shortly and have concluded that my next place will not have a garage with space for 7 cars like I have now so heres my dilemma, what to keep.
My 87 will be going to Karen, and my 70 is going to Australia. My son has his 83 and the wife has the Jeep so I have to figure out my 65, my 80 Silver Anniversary, and my 86 XR7. The 65 I have had along time but I only drove it 18 miles last year, the 80 I have never even registered, and the XR7 only has about 4000 miles on a reman motor. I need some input from some car people as my wife doesnt get my connection to these things. Thanks Here are the cars I am talking about
Oh man.. lovely collection! That's a hard choice.. is it just keeping one of the three shown? =\ The 65 is probably the most collectible thing to keep and that XR7 is just gorgeous and I'm sure is fun to drive (probably more fun than the 80 to drive? then again I have an 86 TC so I'm fairly biased).. man.. talk about a predicament! I can't narrow it down any further.
Here's my two cents.
Sell the 65. Someone else will enjoy it more than you.
I'm split between the Silver Anniversay and the XR7. Assuming the XR7 has the new engine it normally should be the keeper. But I am partial to the Silver Anniversary because it's a Box Bird.
Eenie, Meenie, Miney, Moe......Keep the Silver Anniversary. You see the Moe ended up on the Silver Anniversary....Catch a Tiger by the Toe. Yup, still the Silver Anniversary.
Are you sure you can't garage them both?:D
Keep the '65 regardless....man, those just don't come around every day.
If the '80 hasn't been registered...well, how much are ya askin? ;):D
Man, this sucks...I'd gladly store one (or 2) for ya...
My order for keeps:
'65
'86
'80
All are nice cars.
I'd keep the '86...
You don't want to rent storage after you move or you can't convince your wife to keep them?
To answer your question, try this. Close your eyes and imagine a tornado(?) just wiped out your house and garage. Complete devastation. Fortunately, the family was on vacation when it happened. When you arrive, the cops are there and they tell you the whole place was destroyed. Clean-up crew using a bulldoze to clean the mess. Total loss. Everything gone, nothing saved.
Except one car.
+1
I hate to say it, but if you only drove the '65 18 miles last year and never drive the '80, its time to sell them.
Its a toss up between the '86 and the '65 for me. The '80 you said was never even registered, for me that would be a no brainer even though its nice car.
X2
Very nice cars, by the way.
I've been dealing with a similar dilemma myself (though the cars are not nearly as nice). With me it came down to what do I enjoy driving the most?
That's how I'd call it if I were you
That is a tough choice but for me since 86's are more easily to come by I would keep the 65 and 80. The 65 is to die for and I'd love to be able to have a true classic example of that vintage. However, you can actually make good money on the 65. The 80 I would keep just because it's different and you just dont see them in good shape at all these days. I guess it's really a matter of which one you really have the most passion for.
This.
Otherwise, you have to decide if you enjoy driving or looking more. I can't imagine not registering a car. To me, it would be worthless. However, if you've had the 80 all this time, it must be giving you tons of enjoyment just sitting there. It's hard to put a price on that.
Obviously, the best solution is to get a place with room for eight cars and buy a Turbo Coupe!!
Hey Dan... you know we love that silver Cougar (The one you got from Victor)too, right? lol If you decide it needs a new home, let us know.... since the kids are all getting the cars for graduation, I will be left without one...... so, I really could use another. ;)
There is no choice. Keep the 65 if you can only keep one.
Yes, Karen thats the car. Whats it worth??
The problem is that all three of the cars in the pictures are not worth as much to others as they are to you. Even the 65 does not sell as well as it should.
It will be very hard to sell these for what the current market will give you for them.

mmm I don't know Dan... we will have to talk about it. Why don't you PM me with what you'd like for it and we can go from there.
