Title: Cats, 2 (the not funny thread)
Post by: Beau on January 24, 2010, 10:05:44 PM
Ok, any of you with a not so "secure" shop, shed, building, what-have-you will get this one...

My shop has a dirt floor, it's 35 years old, and isn't that great, but a lot better than it could be. At one corner, where the ground slopes a slight bit, there's a hole where a 2x6 has rotted away over the years.
This hole has served a  interstate for my outside cats to get in and shiznit to their heart's content all over my dirt floor, and even piss on the seats that were in the Sport (blue leather, and cracked all to hell, so no biggie there..)

Well, today, while shuffling cars and trucks around in my glorified mud-pit of a driveway, I happened to step in a pile of cat . I went off, went nuts...I'd f*ckin' had it. I swear if I could've caught one (or more) of the furry shiznitting bastids, I'd probably have pulled their heads clean off with my bare hands.

I didn't though, and after I calmed down, and changed boots, and moved the Tbird back inside, I covered the hole, and blocked it up good to make sure they no longer can fertilize my shop. s!

Why, oh why, do felines have to shiznit in MY sandbox!?

Anybody else have this problem?

I'd rather buy mouse poison for the shop and vehicles, than walk around with one or both shoes smelling like the inside of a cat's rotten arse! s!

How many cats do you have? Are they "fixed"? Cats that live outside tend to  outside.I've never seen anyone freak over it though.  Chillllllllllllll and relax.Don't sweat the petty stuff. It's really a lot to do about nothing in the long run. You could put a big litter box out in the corner for them.A big round or square container and a big bag of litter.Gain control over their toileting habits.LOL.

Some of the cats are mine, some are strays, feral, wild, whatever. They eat here, and that's not a problem, but they're not at all able to be caught, out of I think 9, I can catch 3.

I guess the reason I have that many is that the coyotes must be catching a lot of rabbits...this place is usually rather hard on cats.
In 2 years' time I've buried 5, and 4 more went missing that I never knew the cause.

I like cats (obviously, or they wouldn't be out there now!) and I enjoy the tamer ones, I just don't want them using my shop for a big litter box. There's 4 other sheds they can desecrate all they want...I'll do what I can to keep my big shed a no-cat(shiznit) zone lol.

Litterbox? They have 190 acres to  all over...why they need to use a 20x40 building for that!? :flame::rollin:

Maybe they use the shop because they want to  in peace, not having to worry about a coyote sneaking up on them at the peak of potty time.

Everyone likes a nice quiet, uninterupted place to pinch a loaf.

Get an airsoft gun. Itll hurt, but shouldnt injure. They might be too scared to come back after one or two shots. Try not to hit eyes.

I have a simular problem. I keep my Fusion in my nieghbors open carport, and it never fails after I get it all cleaned up a stray cat goes in and walks all over my car! For the summer months I've been keeping it covered but that gets to be a pain, plus once it gets dirty or wet from rain I can't then when I go back out to it, there's the prints. I love cats as well, I have two indoor cats. But I sure hate having to put up with someone elses making a mess out of my car.
