My 88 turbo coupe starts fine cold, just as it is getting warmed up it cuts out like is is running out of gas. Once it is warm it goes away.
I am guessing a temp sensor or somthing. Anybody had this happen to them? Thanks John
Seen two TFI modules do the same...
When you say "as it is getting warmed up," do you mean you're letting it idle? Or are you saying as you're driving it slowly to get it up to temperature? I wouldn't overlook the basics, like making sure it's got good spark plugs. MY '87 would cut out when it was cold, especially if it was under just a few pounds of boost. The plugs weren't terrible but were a bit worn.
mine is doing something similar but I am suspecting a faulty TPS due to erratic idle speeds. could be wrong. seems to only do it when the engine is cold.
codes, pull them.
Try cleaning the IAC and checking the TPS for a constant continuous sweep to WOT.
check the tfi plug and make sure it stays seated
