Title: What Happened!!!
Post by: turbocoupetgill on August 03, 2009, 12:29:59 AM
So my 88 TC was driving fine all day yesterday. It was pretty hot (around 90) but the car seemed to be doing fine. Later that night after it cooled down I took it back out and then it started acting funny. It was idling kind of rough and it would stutter every now and then. Also there is some smoke coming from either the EGR valve or right below it. Anyone that has any possible idea what could be happening your answer will be appreciated.

Check your PCV hose that goes the underside of the upper intake. That may have broke. That could cause your smoke and it would  be coming out below the EGR. The the hole sucking extra air in the intake would cause the car to run strange. Unaccounted for air in the system tends to make the ECU not so happy. Maybe even the hose just cracked. Hope that is it.
