i have a 83 tbird and i have found a 85? near me that is wasted,but has the factory body kit on it.
will it fit my 83 or is it a waste of time?

should fit 83-86 no problem.

"factory"? or aftermarket?

regardless, the previous comment correctly states the situation, 83-86 parts interchange with little or no difficulty.

well,whatever it is,ive seen this car since 1986 owe owner and it had this kit on it since new.
