here's what I'm thinkin of doing to the 84, but as you can probably tell, I'm still on the fence about what wheels I want.

Wheels like Vinnie's are my top pick!
Also, these cars are one of the few that looks good with a two-tone paint scheme.
I'd say FR500s but i like being only one of two people around here with them.
Liking it so far.
If you're doing tue-tone follow that body line. That's what the factory did on my T-bird ;)
Yeah, i did follow the body line.
For wheels, I really want to go with 18 inch bullets, 10 inch rears. But I am having a hard time justifying it to myself to spend about 900 on a set of wheels and tires. Maybe if I can restore the snowflakes and get a few bucks out of those it may amke it easier to swallow spending 900 on the wheels I want.
No to be prejudiced towards my wheels, but, with those colors,I think they would look cool on your car.I like the Bullitts, but I think they are over used by a LOT of people.BUT,that is a decision that only you can make. Some don't like my wheels,it's all about personal preference.By the way,I like your design.Nice color choice. Here's my wheels.....

COLVINDESIGN do you know you live about 40 minutes south of me?
nope, didn't know that,
Wanna come over and help me work on my car? I got BEER :mullet:
Actually, now that I see you live in Chicago, you are actually 40 miles northwest of me.
I like your wheels too. I agree about bullitts being overdone, on mustangs. I have not seen any 18 inch bullitts on any Tbirds. THat's why I'm looking at 18's in the first place.
Since I've bought my first Tbird (not long ago), I've seen 1 other one on the road (actually parked). A set of 18 inch bullitts will stand out from 17's and then being on a bird, it will still be very unique.
I am with Vinnie... I think wheels like his would look the best with your color scheme.
Vinnie your Bird always makes me drool! ;)
Yeah you can't beat the wheel style you have chosen! I love it! They absolutely look like they could be a factory style if the car had continued production into modern day! The Legend Lime paint lends to that effect as well!
I am still undecided what type of wheel to go with for now until the final restoration process begins. The TRX wheel have to go because the tires are too expensive. I will need to go with something inexpensive and common to move the car around until I get to final stages of restoration. I expect to go with something like Vinnie's wheels when the exterior is refinished after all the mechanicals of the car become sound and I become confident with the Bird. I will likely not bother with a five lug conversion so the wheels like Vinnie's are ideal. I just want to do a nice restoration and I am not interested in making it a hot rod.
The more spokes, the more 'elegant'/'classy', generally speaking. Personally, 5-spokes FTW, IMO. You might also consider a black mesh (or dark metallic grey) with chrome lip.
and..
Where did you get that sketch? That car's been dropped into the weeds!
I always thought Thunderbirds past and present look the best with radial spokes or a turbine style wheels.
What type of beer? :hick:
