Post by: irv on May 20, 2009, 09:08:21 AM
the ford parts book list the tbird, cougar and mustang
throttle valve cable as the same #. are they the same?
ford lists it as obsolete. does anyone still have these or
are there aftermarket ones. just wanted to have an extra.
thanks for any help.--irv

The setup for a column shift is different than the floor shift... The column setup uses a  shorter cable and some linkage... The floor is just one continual cable from the TB to the tranny, guessing Mustangs use same(all the fox Stangs I've owned were 5 speed)...

Is it? I'll have to crawl under the car and take a look. I don't remember a linkage on my AOD....I could be wrong though.

The floor shift T.V. cable is indeed the same between the Cougar, Thunderbird and Mustang. I had to order one once and it cross-referenced. The E7ZZ number indicates it's for an '87 Mustang anyway.
