Title: I found the TC holy grail!! (sorry no pics guys)
Post by: 87crzypssy on March 09, 2009, 11:14:44 PM
I know i know, my words mean nothing.

But just wait guys i will sneak a picture next time i am there.

A friend told me he thought he saw a couple of tbird/cougars sitting in a field way WAY!!! out in the sticks, and was he ever right!

I love missouri for two reasons, 1 the hills, views and roads. 2 the people.

i pulled into the guys drive way unexpected on a sunday afternoon and ended up staying almost till dark. He had at least 30-40 Turbo coupes, a hand full of v8/v6 cars and tons of rare if not one of a kind stuff.

the trip started with my needed parts list consisting of two transmissions, a decklid for the tbird, a head light for the cougar and who knows what else.

I didnt buy a thing. I seemed to win his respect by offering to pull my bent and damaged parts to replace what i take before i took it. Almost all of the cars were mostly complete but mismatched here and there.

Being a young guy he told me stories of old time circle track racing and drag racing. I was born in the wrong generation. I can only dream of knowing the feeling of a altered wheelbase 65 falcon slinging sideways around a dirt corner.

And as you guys can probably tell by how uncollected my thought are in this post i am very excited to make this new friend.

Boss heads, one of a kind body kits. a diffrent set of wheels for every day of the week, The parts are not nearly as valuable as the knowledge the guys has behind the pieces.

The guy started a fire in my soul and the only way to put it out is with a 180mph wind. I cant wait to see how my life turns out when im 65 if its half as good as this fellas, i will be happy

His name certainly is bill and he does have somewhat of a prescense on the internet. Im guessing you know him from NATO? that was the only thing he spoke of. I mentioned to him this site being alot of the same people but half the B.S. to sort through

sorry the pics are blurry,, if you want this book, send pm.

Or,,
go to bookmooch.com and look for revisedelf or brittiney cassity.

its a site where all you do is post up books you have,,
next you just go look at what everyone else has and order it.  The book is free and the shipper pays media mail to you all for free.

When someone mooches a book from you, you mail it to them and you pay the media mail.

you build up points or something that makes it like a bank account or something like that. Im not on there, brit is.  she loves it.

I do not know him from NATO, I've talked to him a couple of times on the phone. He indeed has a body kit, at last time we spoke he is not interested in selling it. Most of his parts he was not interested in selling. Most of his cars are not parts cars but instead his own collection. He has almost every color made in 88.

Don't get excited people, I do not think he is a substantial parts source. Most of his stuff is to fix his own stuff
Title: sorry

If you are serious about meeting this guy and seeing his collection then keep in touch with me. I dont want to seem too needy so Im going to give him a week or two to forget about me and then call him up and try and to make offical time to go up there.

At that time I will also ask him if he would mind if i brought a few friends. "Friends" being you guys, Anyone from southern missiouri i will meet up with in springfield, and anyone from the north I would meet in Sedalia. I would not charge anything for the drive however if you wish to throw in 2 or 3 dollars for the gas i would appreciate it.

I do plan on keeping this mostly secretive as i dont want to run myself out of the opportunity to have what i need, and i dont want to cause any comotion for this fella.

He knows how to use the net, and could advertise himself if he chose and you can probably collect that he chooses not to.

and if the only thing you are interested in is just the body kit....

.... just give me some time, my friend the boat builder only needs a mold of the bumpers made. Something the two of us can go do in his garage in a day and then starting making our own.

Oh and just to tease everyone a bit more, not only does he have 1 but 3 diffrent styles of kits!!

Very serious. Even if not to get parts just to look at everything. I wouldnt be against getting parts though:hick: .The older guys are the best to talk to because their stories sound like movie themes. My uncle and some guys he knows have some great stories.

I understand the not wanting to rush the guy thing. Dont want to mess up a good thing. His collection seems like it could be very useful to to the community overall. Keep me updated, via PM or whatever. Sounds like the trip would be a good time

I dont know anything about this guy, but if i'd like to guess. he probably loves every single one of them and if he can tell a story about everyhing. there is no way he'd part them out. He's probably just going to look for the right candidate to inherit the whole lot.

I am going to start hunting to find a picture of the red 84 or 85 with the odd ground effects. if anyone has a picture that sounds close throw it up here.

The main thing i remember was the grille came all the way out flush with the front bumper just about, and the lines that from the + were very very bold. The rear bumper hung quite lower at the bottom of the wheel opening and the spoiler was a low profile almost drag race stretched decklid style.

no i wouldnt part them out... until i had put together 2 or 3 decent loking , solid cars... then the rest would get parted.....

FMS kit

High dollar pieces. I sold an FMS grill for $200 2 years ago.

Spoiler look similar to this?
http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showpost.php?p=167309&postcount=6

That is an 87-88 version but close to 83-86

Grill like this? That is sum_weirdo's car.

Talk to P71. I know he was re poping some spoilers back in Aerobird Motorsports days. I dont think he ever did an FMS one though. He might know who to talk to about having one made.

Been there Met him and he is a great man! Love his stories his knowledge his parts and all. Tell him Steve that used to live in Eldon Mo says hey and if you could pass my handle for this site along when you go there next. It has been so long about a year or two since I've seen he. Back then he was into building race cars from Camaro's tryin to talk his driver into a FORD. Still has plenty of Turbo coupes and other fords to keep him busy. Did you get to see the model T? does he still have the mustang CS and how is the SVO coming. What is his wife driving these days she usually has something neat or something she workin on. Well hope you have fun I know I always do when ever i stop by. Also I know he has a couple of full body kit in full factory packaging. Last time I was there he was talkin about leting me make some molds of them but I know nothing about molds atleast not enough to make anything that large.
