Jim
Now $4900
I would buy the hood, those 42# injectors... and probally other stuff
Forgot that there is no factory fuel system/fuel tank. Currently has a fuel cell and a twin external fuel pump system.
Jim, You had to find something else to give up on it after all you did to it. If I didn't have so much money out that people owe me, I would probably jump on it.
It's just a possibility. Nothing set in stone, yet.
Well, I came up with a plan to continue working on the car. Anyone want to buy an 03 Avalanche or 00 Kawasaki ZR7??? May post in the for sale section soon.
i dont know who feels better me or you lol
most guys here want to see the car fixed
Not sure about that, I was hoping he got so sick of it that I could get it cheap!!,lol.
  lol thats funny
Well I woulda been money ahead, since everything that you listed was what I still had to do to mine, but I'm glad for ya.
Ok, I think the time may have come. If I can sell the chassis first, I am parting the car out...unless someone wants to make a deal on the whole lot! See the first post for basic info. I have excellent parts installed on the chassis: tubular front end, koni's, coilovers, flaming river, 17x9's, 17x10.5's with drag radials(like new), 5 lug swap, etc. I know that I am going to take a hit on the chassis, so offer away. Just remember that the rollbar and through the floor subframes are no cheap buy it and bolt it in units. Custom built and installed. Whoever buys the chassis can have EVERY body/interior part that I have collected over the years(I will not add in additional money). I have: fiberglass cowl hood, extra fenders, extra bumper covers(fr+rear), exra TC nose, door panels(2-3pr), taillights(~4pr), stock kmember, etc etc. Anything related that you find here you can have. This would be an excellent foundation for a killer build and save yourself a ton of money. This was a FL car from new until 2004, spent a year in a garage in Illinois and then spent the rest of the time in my garage. I may also include a 16' 10K open car trailer for the right offer. I will offer whoever buys the chassis first call on any other parts that are here. I have more parts than have been listed.
Jim
Why??
Honestly, a few reasons. I really don't have the time to work on it. I am losing the desire to work on it.
Also, you can see that I have spent good money on good parts for the car. I sat down and figured out where I want the car to go from here and it just does not make sense to put the amount of money that I want to into the car. It would be an excellent finished project...one of a few like it, if any. It would involve almost starting over and I don't want that right now.
Sorry to hear that Jim.. Anyway I'm intrested in the hood, let me know
what size is the cowl hood?
It's a 3". If I end up parting it, I am fairly sure that I already have a local buyer.
I don't know you personally, but I would hate to see you part it out. My guess is this is what could happen:
- You decide to part the car out and start advertising it
- You easily sell a few key (more expensive) big parts that most everyone wants
- You end up with everything else left and you can't sell it for a reasonable price
- You then decide you want to build it again and regret selling the key parts
- You're left with a car you can't sell that needs key parts you can't afford to buy (for the second time)
- You wish you would have just built it like you wanted to do in the first place
Not trying to pick on anyone, just offering my $.02 worth.
This is exactly what I am going through now. My phone has been ringing off the hook for all the mainstream parts. That is one reason I wanted to sell the chassis first. I have contacted a few old friends to see if their is any interest around right now. I had a local come by last night and it made me actually realize how many good parts are already there. I am waiting to see what happens on the chassis first.
Finally a price breakdown. I am willing to remove parts as needed to drop the price or if you have no interest in those parts. I am losing alot of money and labor here. Add up the parts if you don't believe it. I also didn't add in prices of many little items.
Here's what you would get:
87 TC chassis, former FL car(87-04)
custom rollbar, ART swingouts, through the floor 2x3 subframes(painted black)
smoothed and painted engine bay(copper red mica), most wiring hidden
tinted windows
Viper alarm w/remote pager and display
17x9,17x10.5 black Bullit wheels with Nitto Drag radials
Tubular front suspension w/coilovers
13" Baer brake kit
Flaming River rack and shaft, w/steeda bump steer kit
Maximum motorsports caster/camber plates
Koni adjustables
2.5" fiberglass cowl hood
fuel cell
trunk mount alum battery box w/flaming river shutoff
Steeda 8.8 cover
rear 5 lug conversion
Motorsports aluminum radiator
new dash cap
Etc, etc
Whoever buys the chassis can have every extra body/interior part that I have collected over the years(I will not add in additional money). I have: extra fenders, extra bumper covers(fr+rear), extra TC nose, door panels(2-3pr), taillights(~4pr), dew wipes, stock k-member, extra 5 lug hubs, etc.
$5700 Roller is now $4900
Jim
Whats the plan for the engine and turbo?
I wish I could afford what you have, it's just not the time now.
I plan on selling all the other parts outright. I think I scared enough people with just the chassis price. I can't imagine if I added in the turbo system, engine , trans, fuel system.
$5200 takes it home.
If it helps, I am willing to remove the wheels, tires and Baer front brake kit and make it $4000. It would still come with all the following:
87 TC chassis, former FL car(87-04)
custom rollbar, ART swingouts, through the floor 2x3 subframes(prof. painted black)
smoothed and painted engine bay done prof. (copper red mica), most wiring hidden
tinted windows
Viper alarm w/remote pager and display
Tubular front suspension w/coilovers
Flaming River rack and shaft, w/steeda bump steer kit
Maximum motorsports caster/camber plates
Koni adjustables
2.5" fiberglass cowl hood
fuel cell
trunk mount alum battery box w/flaming river shutoff
Steeda 8.8 cover
rear 5 lug conversion
Motorsports aluminum radiator
new dash cap
Etc, etc
The car and parts are 100% officially for sale.
With a serious offer, I may include a 16ft, 10k car trailer.
I think I know where you're coming from. I've been fighting with mine for awhile now between racing and street/daily driver, and am setting it aside for much needed rest....mentally (and maybe if my current DD dies, it'll make up my mind for me, lol). My $.02 is to figure out what direction you do want the car to go to first before anything else. You may have already done this, I don't know. Anyway, what make is the tubular K? (stock wheel location?), and how far are you willing to strip the added on parts? I haven't cut into mine yet.
Had to list it on the Corral.
Under what, got to see the responses.
Other fords for sale trade...
I may have a possible buyer, we shall see.
Sorry, I missed this. It is a D&D k-member and arms. I am going to try to sell as a roller and part everything else. If the roller sits for too long, I will probably start to strip suspension pieces.
Back from vacation, so TTT.
Taking offers...I am now using both sides of the garage, so it needs to go.
Still here...
Here's what you can have:

That's a shagy roller. :mullet:
Give ya $100 bucks for that cowl hood. ;):rollin:
hey get in line :)
Found something I want.....taking offers.
It would be a good time to make an offer....
Another price drop. Someone buy this before I do something stupid.....
I really wish this was about 6 years into the future...
Really is a deal when you think about the time, money and parts.
I know. It is killing me. I am willing to make someone a deal.
Jim, If I didn't put all that work into mine, I'd be all over that car like a bum on a boloney sandwich long ago. I hope it finds a good home.
Man if I had the money I'd have it in and out of my shop with a new motor and I'd be out beating it like it owed me money. I really think someone needs to buy this.
I've wanted to as well, but dang if this economy hasn't put a damper in those plans.
Thanks everyone. I know it is a bad time to sell and wish I could keep both cars, but that is not possible. I wish it would sell because it is hard to see it sitting here in the garage. I see great possibilities for it and have had some crazy ideas to finish it in the past two weeks.
Mild built motor. Make it drivable and then go from there. There is just too much in this car to just let it go. Built bottom end and spray it! Then as time goes on you can build up the turbo motor again and drop it in whenever you feel like it.
To me that would be wasting time and money with the plan of replacing everything in the future. My problem is that to do it right(drivetrain, paint and interior) would drive me crazy. I have a very, very nice drivetrain lined up and already have a quote from the bodyshop. It's a tough call when I have something "done" sitting next to it in the garage, even though it's a ME TOO car.
How much are you liking for everything
Also so there's no engine with it because of the piston blow out right or does it have one in it or is it out of the car
Speaking of whats sitting next to it in the garage, when do we get more pics of the Stang?
Just a rolling chassis...no motor, trans or fuel system(there is a fuel cell in the trunk).
Here's a few...

And one for the sale:
Only about 7 days before it goes to the swap meet. Would make a great deal to someone to buy it before then.
How much are you asking
Just got the interior finished....

sucks man...
i'd really like to buy the chassis off you, just the body/cage tho... no suspension or even interior or hood. maybe brakes... if i got my hands on that, it would set me forward with my plans probably a few years. i really dont think you wanna strip it tho right?
Still here!
One more TTT... I am getting ready to sink some crazy amount of money into this to finish it. Make an offer...you never know. Just be serious about it.
Want this out of the garage. Taking offers, but be serious about it....
Been almost a month...TTT
God this makes me cry. Ive been gone for so long I hoped to come back to see this thing done!! You have no idea how bad id love to walk away with that chassis....... Im in Blairsville, PA at wyotech and could make good use of it... my 351w woudl be right at home in there.....
God I want it so bad, Im actually contimplating the idea of dropping out of school to buy it... As if my mom would ever let that happen!! Theres mostly broke college kids here, but there is a few die hard stang guys here. If you part it, make me up a Word doc with a lsit of parts and prices with your number and location and Ill post it all over the school. Thats the best I can do to help you out man.... If only I could give you the money thats EXACTLY what I want for a birdy....
Only other thing I could offer is a 2000 Dodge Durango with a 5.9 in it. But its not worth IMHO waht your asking..
Good luck, and im sorry to see it go, but the saleen man, that thing is TIT!
Thanks. Don't drop out of school for a car, you will make plenty of money later to buy anything you want.
I am very torn as to what to do. Actually both cars are up for sale right now. The Saleen is probably going to the dealership on Friday to be put on consignment. I already talked with them about it. I am going to hate to part with either one, but have great plans for whatever one stays.
Yea I hear what your saying. I just want something NICE to mess with. I have so much free time, but nothing to do with it. This school is OK, but it leaves me with so much idle time.
Plus I put so much money into my durango, and its not turning into what I wanted from it, and now im stuck with it. Ive got my 66, but its sitting as well waiting for me to get a DD and a job. Hell your 4 hours away, if you ever need a hand on a weekend, im in. Anything to get away from this school is good with me!
What's going on? I thought you just bought that a couple of months ago?
About six months ago....great car, but I can't have both. One of them has to go.
I hear what you are saying, it just seems like selling the Saleen wouldn't help. If you try to sell it, with the current car market, wouldn't you lose more money on the Saleen than you are asking for the bird?
I bought the Saleen when the market was already down and by selling it, allows more to go into the Tbird. It's not going to hurt anything by seeing what the dealership can do.
oops.... forget it
Well, the Saleen has not sold yet. I'm not surprised with 2ft of snow on the ground.
Call me foolish, considering the parts that I have bought, but I would sell the T'bird if someone here wanted it. Some room in the garage would be nice, plus I would be able to focus on one project. I just hope one of them sells soon.....I am honestly going nuts!
I still vote for you to keep them both. The Saleen is totally awesome and you have done so much awesome work to the bird, I just think you will really regret letting either one go. If there is ANY way for you to hang on to them both, I hope you do. Good luck!
I know. It will be a real shame to sell either. My goals for the 'bird are so high that I would need to sell the Saleen to fund it all.
$4500 will take this home. If you don't want the wheels/tires, I could knock some more money off. I don't think I can let it go for much less than this. The rollbar, subframes, engine bay, and tubular suspension cost that much.
You need to stop, Hang on to it for a while and see if the interest starts again. If your desperate I"ll give you 3 grand for it. I know it's low ball.
Thanks, but not desperate. I just want one of them gone, so I can finish the other.
send me a link to where the Saleen is listed. I have a guy I work with that just flew somewhere to buy a mustang, I think he collects them or something, I mentioned your saleen was for sale when he was telling me about the one he bought this month and he was interested in more info.
I've been wanting your Turbo Coupe since I first saw it on racing Junk....drool...drool. :D
Wished you lived closer tho. (weather conditions suck this time of year)
edit: BTW: Are those Mustang axles from a SN95 or does it have the shorter Fox length axles? I have terminator wheels, so that's the reason I ask.
Also, do you have the stock hood?
It's under 11hrs each way!!!!
Yes, they are Sn95 axles with a 10'5" wheel. Can't remember the backspacing though.
Someone buy this before I have to tow it out to the swap meet...
Anyone?
If I get asking price of $4500, I will give the buyer all my spare parts: 4 cyl kmember, fenders, door panels, door seals, TC trim, sway bars, dew wipes and anything we find in the garage or shed. I am tired of seeing it all. The deal will not get any better.
Just bought some new "toys"...want this gone.
Do I have to deliver it too?????
Anybody here interested? I may place it on Ebay. I hate to do it....I can only imagine all the questions.
Sold my motor...got to go!
if i had the cash i would grab it from ya to help ya out since this is a killer set up.
I wish you would buy it, that way when I'm ready to buy it back, it's still local!
I will be taking the car to Maple Grove swap meet next weekend. If anyone here is interested, let me know before.
You heard my offer, I know it's low. It's all I got to work with for now.
Refresh my memory...send me a pm, maybe we can work something out.
Last week to contact me and get a deal on this!
what happens next?
Hopefully, It goes to a new home. Someone that can treat it right.
Don't know. I'm thinking about selling it all.
$4000 as it sits
$3300 w/o wheels/tires
pm sent, again lol
Replied
SOLD It was a tough thing to do, but I'm hoping the new owner will finish it and get it on the road again.
who bought it?
Congrats! You've been trying for a long time. Are you keeping the Mustang now?
ME ES!!!!!!!!!!!
ha ha... this is exactly what i've been looking for, and with what he's already done to the car, well... it's taken probably at least a year or 2 off my build time... i just gotta get my cobra IRS in and my 5.0/t56 in there and ill be doing some victory dougnuts!:hick::D:burnout::shakeass:
Congrats!! You bought a very nice car.:burnout::bowdown:
Hey Nate congrats on the bird! Take lots of pics for us, looking forward to seeing it on the road. Your going with IRS? whats your plans with the current rear in the bird? Let me know if its for sale.
Congrats bro-I've seen that car in person. Really nice!!
Congrats Nate! Hey, by the way, I think we used to write on cardomain a couple years ago.
Glad you got it. Wanted it to stay around.
:iagree:
I was wondering when you were going to post on here!!
yeah i think i remember that,
o, and all my friends are totally jealous... im glad i got it, i cant wait to drive it with my motor and tranny in it. now i dont have to wait like 3 years to do it lol.
congrats on the purchase. from what i have seen, you are definitely time/money ahead in the chassis game by buying this roller....i know i spent 2yrs building my chassis up...
guess you wont need anymore of my advice on thru-floor SFC's :hick:
your old white sport was pretty nice, im sure this new project will be even better.
didnt know this was in your plans, but keep us updated. i would enjoy welcoming you to the IRS'd club!
edit. just added you to my AIM list, hit me up anytime
Remember, I get first dibs on buying it back if you ever decide to sell.....
14 years later....anyone know where this car is?
