Post by: Aoreugif on January 25, 2009, 10:16:43 AM
Hi! I'm looking to find out if this guys clam is true? "Twilight Blue Metallic (the most RARE color for the Turbo Coupe, only done for 1988 model yr. in limited numbers)" Got this from an ad on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-Thunderbird-Turbo-Coupe-Ford-Thunderbird-Turbo-Coupe-27-500-miles-mint_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a317Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1308Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem120366603294QQitemZ120366603294QQptZUSQ5fCarsQ5fTrucks (http://"http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-Thunderbird-Turbo-Coupe-Ford-Thunderbird-Turbo-Coupe-27-500-miles-mint_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a317Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1308Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem120366603294QQitemZ120366603294QQptZUSQ5fCarsQ5fTrucks")
Now I found the producton #'s but it doesnt brake it down into colors.  Is there another web site I could go to find this info out?

Thanks

Nice car, but the seller is FOS, the Twilight Blue is likely the most common color for '88... Counting the daughters, I owned three out of 11 total... The other three I owned were '87s and they did have a different dark blue...

EDIT

Oops, I was wrong, four of those TC were Twilight Blue...

I always thought the rarest color was the metallic sandalwood (for '87-'88 Turbo Coupes).

Interesting idea with the air cleaner, too bad it's an auto:barf:

Still, I'd take a Fox over an S-197 any day of the week, and twice on Sundays.  Oops, I already did.

That is a color which is hardly seen... But I'd think the bright red that was only available the last three months of '88 production was the rarest... Actually there was suppose to be a pewter/bronze available at that time as well but, AFIKno one has ever seen one that color...

Thanks for the kind words. It's a great car - a true BMW fighter of it's day. They seem to be more rare the SVO's of late. Runs perfect/low miles - def. an investment/collector-grade car for the right buyer

Put the pipe down.....
