will either of the sets of headers fit a 351???

merc: i don't believe so... i'll check around.

the problem with the cheapo Promotive headers is the that they don't curve downward enough. i spent all day in the freezing windy cold trying to put those headers in just to find that out. i was gonna get them bent (as not to be defeated) but i put the stock h.o. headers on instead. going with long tubes so i need neither anymore.

Will those promotive headers fit in a 1984 ford thunderbird? I have a 351, but they have the same size exhaust, so as long as it will fit in a 84 Bird w/ a 302, i'll be ok. If so how much is the price of the headers with shiping because i am very interested in them, I still have to build my exhaust, so as long as it doesnt hit the firewall or engine ill be ok. They are rear exit headers right? When i put my 351w ho in my car, one of the manifolds exited between the 3rd and 4th cylinders so i had to use one of the old manifolds off of my 302. You can email me at piss_on_chevy2003@yahoo.com, if u want to. Thanks, Robert

Yes they are... i think. That is, if you're talking about the pipes that connect to the H-Pipe then yes. ^_^

How much for just the H pipe and cat back?
Does the cat back have the pipes that go over the axel?

Slammed Cat: No they don't. Dumped at the axle. I'll have to say $100 for H-pipe/CatBack together. Thanks for looking.

added links to pics. i deleted some accidentally. will take more when my g/f comes down next weekend... maybe. XD

i'm quite surprized that no one needs a set of H.O. headers.

Forewarning: Trying to work up the nerve to put my wheels on the list too. You know, the ones in my sig. I don't wanna let them go, but i need to. drat. Make me an offer...

[edit] Wheels are gone. -_-

Hi,
Do you still have the combo intake carb and pump ? If so, would they work on an '85 T-Bird with the V8 5.0 ?
What would the shipping be to 64801 ?

Thanks !

No O2 sensor mounts on the HO headers?
Title: Re: Parts-O-Plenty
Post by: Ether947 on April 18, 2005, 02:10:06 PM
siscrew: yeah, i still have them. and yes it will work... looks to be $11.46 shipping. here's a write up on the conversion http://www.jason.fletcher.net/tech/efi-carb/efi-carb.htm just let me know if you want it. thanks.

Bird351: no o2 sensor mounts on these headers.

Krap. Oh well.

Bird351: No stock or aftermarket Mustang shorty will have the O2 holes. Mustangs have their O2 sensors mounted in the H-pipe, and in order to use them on a T-Bird/Cougar you have to extend the O2 harnesses (they won't reach otherwise)

Would those headers match up with the stock Y-pipe location on our cars? If so, perhaps I could have some shop cut/weld in the bungs/mounts/whatever you call 'em for O2 sensors and use it like that for the short term, and deal with a more permanent solution later when I can afford a custom exhaust setup. Does this sound reasonable, or not worth the effort? Until I have more money coming in, I have to plan any potential purchases very carefully.

Nope, the headers won't match up with your Y-pipe. You'll have to either get custom duals made up or use a Mustang H-pipe
