Title: cougar runs lean and idles crazy HELP!!!!

hey i put a 5.0 ho in my 88 cougar but since then it runs lean and i dont know what it is.  also it idles like crazy it surges then goes to normal surges then normal over and over HELP!!!!

Run codes yet?
What size injectors?
SD or mass air?
Did you upgrade the fuel pump?

sounds like a map sensor or vacuum leak, but if thr rpm's rhythmically go up and down while idling it's usually map related (if you have a speed density setup... i think :))

Check your TPS voltage.(should be between .85-1.0 volts) on the
green wire with the key  on engine off.

How are you checking the A/F??? ( wideband or noise)

If it's SD what cam is in it?
