Title: 2008 exploder error code
Post by: jcassity on October 16, 2008, 09:49:43 PM
I had the oil changed just a few hundred miles ago but evidently I changed it too soon according to the onboard computer.

In the area where odometer displays my miles, the display will flip to a new reading that says

"OIL CHANGE REQUIRED"

How do i make this go away?  The oil has been changed.

My newer vehicles can only be cleared by connecting it through the port under the dash.

At least that I know about.

omg,,
feels like bill gates had something to do with this...........

you are not doing it right even though you think you are. You turn the key forward so the dash lights light up. Then push menu until it says push enter to go to system setup. Then when you reach the performance required light hold reset. It should say "if new hold reset" briefly let up the button then hold it down again and it should say "hold to confirm" again briefly let up on it and then hold it down until it says 100% turn key off and then start the truck and it should be reset. the key is that you have to let up and repush the button each time if you just hold it like it says it will not reset.

I know its not a ford, but on gmc's you turn the key on and floor the gas pedal 3 times to clear it.
Now thats engineering.

Yep, the monte we had did that.
I laughed my but off the first time I saw that.
I think it has to be done 3 times before 5 seconds or something like that.

Check the owners manual when all else fails.
