how much horsepower can stock 88 fuel rails handle? i dont want the rails starving my engine if thier restrictive. and also when is it usually a good idea to switch from stock fuel lines to the thicker AN style hoses? again, i dont want my engine starvin but i also dont want to spend money on unnesesary parts either.
if it helps, 255 lph pump, 36 lb injectors, and the engine should be good for 450 hp. you think stock will cut it or no?
your line inside diameter should not be less than the diameter of the output nipple on the fuel pump.
have you tested that pump to see if it delivers a 2L bottle of gas in less than 30sec?
I believe the sn-95 5.0's had slightly larger fuel rails. I think the 91-93 cougar/bird did too.
I'm sure you will be fine. My old Tbird went mid 11's on all the stock lines and rails. If you have an A/F gauge, you can keep an eye on that. If money is no object, a nice fuel system is always good insurance.
You'll be fine. You'll max out your injectors before you'd max out your rails.
sweet. thanks guys. the further i get on this thing the more little odd ball questions like this im runnin into. just wanted to be sure.
What size fuel lines you running from the tank?
haha, good question. uh...any suggestions? lol
1/8" bigger than stock maybe.....Perhaps time for-AN fittings on the feed side....WHat's the I.D of the stock lines?
Stock lines are 3/8" OD, 5/16" ID.
