I'm getting ready to do some rust and paint repair on my car. While I'm at it, should I put my Turbocoupe hood on or leave the flat hood alone? I picked up the Turbocoupe hood a few years ago, but now that I look at it, I like the clean look of the flat hood as well. Your thoughts?

i would probably use a turbo coupe hood but on that car you cant go wrong either way...sweet ride!
I can go either way. Seems like everybody is putting them on their birds and cougars. Including me.
Myself, I'm planning on painting both hoods for my car just in case I get sick of the TC hood on my cougar.
I suppose if you want to be different then the rest of us, keep the solid hood.
TC hood, Then take the flat hood and do someting different. There are so many things that can be done.
I like your car the way it is, so clean! I like it alot!
Shaker hood scoop.
Flat hood...anything else is just masturbation.
Hey !!!! I resemble that remark.LOL.
flat hood
I like it the way it is too, very nice car!
i run a flat hood on my car. cuts glare way down but it can radiate heat. your car to me is one of those "look at it... " cars for our birds. you could go with a mopar t/a flat hood maybe?
I'd leave it the way it is. :)
go with the TC hood, or a cobra Heat extractor.... ;)

Either way thats a tuff one glad I am not u.
Did you make another hood?
TC hood "use what you got" the Flat hood looks fine also but depends on what you want to do.
Pretty sure its the same one. different paint. I think someone said that in another thread.
I like it the way it is but I like the T/c hood too. My question is do you want others to look at your car like that is one sharp ride or that is one sharp ride with some MODS. From my experience with plain hood people were like oh yeah its an old T-bird. Then with the T/c hood people were like What have you got done to it? It all depends on witch one you want!
yeah that was the same hood... I exhausted myself building that one for someone and cant even get the urge to start another one for myself.... although I have started to make a version similar to the one on Gregs Cat....:D
smooth hood
+1
Unless you got a turbo 4
The "smooth" hood just goes better with the look of your car in my opinion. I have a TC hood right now but am thinking about going back to the stock one when it gets repainted because, well, its just more smooth looking!
x10
Normally, I would say it's a no-brainer and recommend the TC hood, but WOW, the color, the wheels, (the hood), your car is just SO clean looking, it would be tough to make it better. The only improvement I can think of would maybe be some dark window tint. That would set it off even more. But.... SHARP CAR just the way it is!!
Some things are better left unchanged-Flat Hood!!
i have to vote for the flat hood as well. I have a TC hood for my car but the clean look of the stock hood is the way to go for me too. After thinking about it myself for a while, I decided that if something doesn't have a function then what's the point? Your car looks great the way it is.
Thanks for all the feedback. I think I will stay with the stock hood...even though I've been tripping over that Turbocoupe hood in my shed for like four friggin' years. Anybody around Annapolis Maryland who needs one? It's pretty nice.
I think your car looks ultra classy the way it is. I'm a big fan of understated sleepers.
Flat hood.
Where the hell is there rust on that car?
Ha! The better question may be where
isn't there rust on this car. Rear window - bottom of both quarters - bottom of both doors - and the dest thing, the that the weatherstrip fastens to at the top of the passenger side door rusted completely away. I've
never seen that before. I'm going to have my painter go around the whole car and fix whatever needs it. I've been trying to get it done for a year, but he is always booked solid. I'd go somewhere else, but he's really, really good. He painted it for me the first time, 14 years ago.

Ah I wasn't aware that it had all that hidden rust. Your car had the same tue-tone paint mine does ;)
