Title: How to blow up a T-5 trany
Post by: andrew beedle on September 16, 2008, 02:07:00 AM
I knew it was only a matter of time before this happened. I was going about 35 MPH about to get the tires loose as I hit second. EXPLOSION! The bearing retainer on the front of the case was ripped from its threads which destroyed the input shaft, counter shaft and the case. So I bought me a TKO-600 today :D  hope it can take some twin turbo abuse

WOW... Nasty, but that's about par for a T5...

Usually it's third that shucks the teeth off the cluster, after a power shift(have the T-shirt for that one myself)...

Interesting how all the recent T-5 swappers have remained silent...

That's because most of them probably aren't able to power shift :shakeass:

Because I hope I don't have to show pics like that.
But, would be an excuse to upgrade again.
