Title: Motor Mounts? NEED HELP

I FINALLY got a set of mounts that both are the same mounts.

I had 3 different sets at 2 different stores and all 3 didnt match eachother.

My question now is some had a post on the side that the bolt is on and others didnt. The set that I got now have the post but are they the right ones?

Well didnt get them done or even started today, long story. So I will not have a car for a week at school.

your new mounts will be round, qty 2.
You reuse your lower metal bracket on your existing mount and bolt it up via the three 10mm screws (this has always made me scratch my head).

The upper bracket will be resused as well.

If they offer a mount other than round,, its probably a truck mount.

They are round bout next to the bolt in the mount there is a post.

The "post" is to keep the mount from twisting as you tighten the top nut on the stud.

Thanks Chuck. Thats what i needed to know.

How hard is it to swap them without a picker? Where is the best place to lift it with a jack? In a bind here with time, money, help, blah blah, tools.

Need any kind of advice anyone has

2x6 and a bottle jack will work.  I put mine on the back part of the oil pan.  Regular jack is a little too hard work with down there, but if you can get it to work....

put it on ramps and then use a regular jack. Its the only way to go. A bottle jack could be easier, because it would lift straight up rather then swing like a regular jack. the isolators are alot easier to change out then the actual mount, but I would just guess you have to pull the whole thing out to mount it right. You will have to pull the exhaust manifolds to get to it, unless your a bad ass and have alot of u-joint things for sockets.

i just replaced the mounts on my 86 and everywhere i went the mounts didnt have the "post" on it:mad:
and that they all seem to be made in china:toilet:
its impossible to obtain the right torque without thoses posts it seems.
god i wish ford didnt discontinue them.
shakes like it just got out of a cold shower :P
