Title: hood release latch pulls hard

the past few days now, the hood release lever is extreamly hard to pull, and i'm worried im gonna bust something soon and wont be able to get it back open.  (this is the lever in the car).  any ideas? or is it just a simple matter some WD40 action.  thanks

Mine got hard to pull and then broke.  I think the cable strands started breaking and binding in the sheath.  Try lubing the hood latch stuff under the hood.  If the cable breaks you can still get a new one (what I did) or used, and you can still open the hood but you gotta crawl under and play with the latch from there.
