Title: Wheel dilema
Post by: dadmanwalkn on July 24, 2008, 06:23:00 PM
I got a great deal on some 16" rims. I thought they were 5x 4.5.  I also thought that my 86 Cougar was a 5 x 4.5, well my Cougar is 4 lug.  And the person who sold me the wheels calls me and tells me that he forgot to tell me they were not 4.5 but 4.25.  He also tells me that I cant have my money back.  So what can I do?  Adaptors will make the wheels stick out to far.

convert the car to 5lug(5x4.5) and have the wheels redrilled if possible
sounds like an expensive dilema. kinda kills the good deal on the rims. :(

pics of the wheels?

IF it really was a good deal, then maybe you can sell/trade for something that will fit?

edit ** btw - aren't most Fords incl Foxes 4.25 bolt circles?

Sell the wheels, get as much of your money back as possible, start fresh.
