I have finally gotten off my rearend and started something on my 86 Bird. Pushed it out of garage and washed it after about 8 years of it sitting there. I hope I can get pictures to attach to show starting point. First step of a new beginning for the bird......
I'll get pics along the way as progress is made to show. Be interest in hearing ideas from all as to possible upgrades and concerns.
looks really nice man!!
Thanks. Hopefully by summer's end I'll have the 5.0 in and running. Then i can get paint job and start looking for new wheels.
Well. I finally did a little work on it.
It'll take some time to get it where I want it, but it's already been several years to get here. I'm in no hurry and it's not costing me a cent as is. Just a little elbow grease.
I understand that you're in no hurry,but,almost a year and a half between updates is a little extreme.Get out there,get busy,and let's see some progress !!!!
By the way, what's ll of that brown stuff under the hood? LOL.
you work like me :D i have my bird beside the house behind the fence just sitting and i've had the front suspension off my 86 mustang for almost 2 years now. keep telling myself i'll do it tomorrow.
Thats going to be a great car when you are done. I have been going through the same thing restoring a car that has sat about 10 years. I should probably try to find a set of those wheels like you have. I like the TRX wheels I have now but one rim is bent and the replacement tires are too expensive if you can find them. The multi-hole wheels have a somewhat related style to the TRX wheels and I like them. There's no telling what wheel and tire combo I will end up with in the final stages of restoration. For the interim I am going to use some standard steel wheels with wheel covers and some low priced tires.
I know, I know.....(pick me)
I like the looks of those 8 holes better than the 10 holes. Would love to have a set of those for both my 86ers.
