I oopsed and hooked up a battery badly, fried something and now she won't start. Does anyone have access to the wiring schematic for an '84 Turbocoupe????

You fry the starter selniod thats a cheap part unless you go to the ford house other than that i never messed up anything rehooking up my battery.
starter solenoid isn't it. there was some "unconventional" re-wiring done to this bird, now we have to go through and find out what happened and where, one circuit at a time.
anyone know where a schematic diagram can be located???

Do you mean you hooked the battery up backwards?
Does "won't start" mean won't crank or cranks but won't start?
Reversing the battery polarity will damage electronic parts like diodes and transisters.
When you turn the ignition to RUN can you hear the fuel pump run for a second or two and then shut off? This indicates the EEC computer is running like it should.
If it doesn't run or runs continuously, the EEC may be broke.
Things that may be zapped: EEC, TFI, MAP, arc suppression diodes and radio.

my diy link below has a bunch of diagrams as well. the start circuit is pretty easy to follow and is similar to the v6 and v8.

it cranks but will not start - no juice to the fuel injectors

Next question for anyone. I have an '85 parts car and was wondering if I swapped it's five speed manual tranny (I never have liked my stock automatic) will I need to also swap the rear end?? Any advice for doing that? (swapping 85 to 84 transmission).
I think all 83-86 Turbo Coupes used the 3.45 traction lock 7.5" rear. You shouldn't need to change it. You'll probably need the driveshaft from the T5 car tho...

If you tried to start it with the battery backwards you probably zapped the arc suppression diode for the starter solenoid.
The arcing will burn up a contact in the ignition switch.
There are two wires on the ignition switch start terminal of the starter solenoid. One of them goes to a diode that is grounded to the chassis. Check it with your OHM meter.
I hooked it up and was getting ready to start it, when I noticed some smoke. Realizing that I had fugged up, I did not turn the ignition over and immediately got the battery cables switched to the proper polarity. Unfortunately, after that it would not start. My EEC is not damaged (the fuel pump runs for a couple seconds and shuts off when the ignition is ON). Fuel injection is no workee, tho!
May get it figgered out today or later this weekend - then I can start tearing apart my parts car for its five speed goodies.
The fuel pump turning on and off shows that the software in the EEC is running. It could still be damaged though.
Try pulling codes and see what you get.
Can you swap in the EEC and TFI from your parts car?
Other stuff you may have zapped are the voltage regulator and the alternator.
